Received the thanks but no thanks letter while on Medical leave for a Regional and not have applied there in over two years. Talk about rubbing salt in to the wound!

Sorry to hear that. When did you interview?

Something similar happened to me on pilot credentials. They updated some of the questions and that kicked out some of the answers. When I went to update, I noticed that it was incomplete. Have you been updating since the interview? Good luck everybody!

I did not interview. I only put an application in over two years ago. I have not updated in over a year and a half because of being on medical leave. I do beleive that I am well ualified 6500 tt, 1000 hrs 121 TPIC, former DE and 5 type ratings. It is very discouraging. If I do get my medical back do I reallly want to go back and deal with this sort of thing or move on to greener pastures. I also realie that this is a administrative procedure but it sure seems like a message that maybe its time to move on from aviation. I wish al the peple here that have been slugging away for years like me the best of luck.

Well the good news is, that rejection letter is sent to everyone who applies - supposedly each time they open a new hiring window. Just a way of purging the list of applicants. So it means nothing at all that you got one. You're still in good shape!

A couple weeks ago I happened to go back to check my application and noticed that it was incomplete, so I updated it. How about you?

I've never received a rejection letter from SWA in 3 years. I do get notified to reapply each time a new app window opens. Infact, on my ICIMS.com dashboard, it still shows the last 3 requisitions I've applied in as "submission received." There is also a "withdrawal" button to the left of each of them.

So I'm not sure your information is correct.

For what it's worth I just got this email and I'm sitting in SWA training right now.

Good Afternoon,

Thank you for your interest in the Pilot-First Officer position at Southwest Airlines and for the effort you put forth in our application process. Southwest is fortunate to receive interest from many qualified Candidates for the limited number of Pilot positions that we have available.

At this time, we will no longer be selecting interviewees from this specific position request number in efforts to update our Candidate pool. We will be opening a new position on January 20, 2017. Please keep in mind we require a 12 month waiting period from your last interview date to become eligible to re-apply.

Thank you again for your interest in Southwest Airlines!

They actually sent out an email apologizing for the system error that generated that email.
