I hope you guys realize PBS will make red/green all sorts of red. The days of dropping every other day on reserve will be gone so fast. Transition gone. Optimizing vacation time gone. It's sole design is to optimize efficiency. If the company uses it properly, which they will eventually, reserves will be flying right around their guarantee for the month, and making exactly guarantee. I hope our NC has someone on it that has worked under PBS with a cheap hostile MGMT. The language part alone of our contract will need to be full of examples unless we want to be grieving the BS that the company will be able to do to us scheduling wise with an answer of:"that's not how we interpret that. ". Other airlines have to tweak their language every contract to fix loop holes that MGMT teams find with PBS. With us starting from scratch I guarantee it will be a complete poop show.

If, as the nc stated on the call, pbs is not within the scope of these negotiations and we go the step of separately negotiating the terms of a pbs program here, wouldn't that require a rework of many other sections? I think I agree with folks who see it next contract but not this one

Anyone who thinks this needs to email their ALPA reps. Maybe there's grounds for a survey here, to find out who's gonna cry if transition conflict *goes away* while leaving everything else pretty much status quo.

Honest question....If the 4 days off and vacation touching can be maintained, why not look at an offer with PBS? I'm not advocating for it, but I'm keeping an open mind. It's not like our lines are great. Frankly, they suck. There's no line purity whatsoever with tons of mixed trips, blocks of six days on, etc. They flat out suck. I honestly don't see how PBS could be worse if there's union input and the right language was in place. The argument about fighting interpretations and arbitrations is valid, but what else?

Sometimes when I look at the lines I think that the company's long game to get pbs is to hammer us with these horrendous lines
