Maybe a little. Spirit has historically hired pilots, not English professors. Now they hire warm bodies.

You’re an English professor if you’re proficient in 7th grade vocabulary and grammar? How the American education system has gone down the tubes!

When I got hired six years ago we all had a very optimistic outlook for the future and few or none of us had any intention of leaving. This management has turned this airline a complete 180 and destroyed any possibility of a bright future. It’s heart wrenchingly sad but we are past the point of no return. They have run a **** poor operation, crapped on the consumer and never valued they’re key labor groups. Believe me in time it will bite them in the keaster. The best thing you can do... LEAVE! Out of principle for my family and well being regardless of the contract outcome I will leave. First chance. This is gonna happen every five year during negotiations with Bobby barely keeping the airline running in between. I’ve been at three properties including two regionals prior to Spirit. The regionals were light years ahead of Spirit from an operational standpoint. At this point it doesn’t matter how junior or senior you are or what your w2 said last year, if your 55 or younger... you should LEAVE. JB is one of the worst human beings I’ve ever met and that’s saying a lot.

Get troll boy switching accounts and arguing with himself. Give it up man! Nobody cares what you think.

And not to defend them but this is Spirit. You have to buy/bring your own coffee in training. You have to buy your own uniforms. They would just as soon kick you in the teeth than give you a hand. This place is the lowest of low and for the life of me can't understand why anyone would come here or even stay here. I don't know anyone here that isn't in some way looking to leave and move on. Even senior (10+ year) guys/gals are looking to dump this place like a bad habit.

I wish I could say that this place has potential, future, blah blah blah but I can't even muster that level of optimism anymore.

If you want to come here then good luck but one might look at all the rats jumping ship before signing on as a new deckhand.

Wow. Allegiant also has a reputation as cheapest of the cheap, yet…

30 says ground school + 10 SITs (FTD) + 5 sims + check ride.
free coffee in training center
uniforms paid for
Hotel with kitchen in training, paid for
rental car, paid for
Newhires make ~$57/hr from day one (paid guarantee in training).
Wash out rate nearly non existent.
Over 1000 qualified applications on file.

Sounds like sprit management needs to up their game. Their model doesn't sound sustainable long term.

Hey guys not to hijack your trend. Question though. Aside from what your going through which I think we can all agree is terrible I want to apply to spirit and get out the regionals. Which I think we can all agree is as bad as it gets. My question is, what are the total time of your FOs getting hired? Is it around the 2k mark or are you still getting higher time peeps? Thanks guys/ gals.

If I could go back in time, I wouldn't have come here from my regional. My regional had better health ins and better ltd, oh and a better training program....
