You guys don't find it a little odd Whale is pimping LESS than an industry standard contract, Alligent pay specifically AND our "pretty good" work rules? All with a grand total of 28 posts!

Remind you of anyone?

Please reserve APC for the witty banter and let our negotiators handle the rest. We'll get what we negotiate for and please DON'T FORGET TO VOTE!

Haha my thoughts exactly. He said Allegiant has "good pay". It was pretty decent when they signed, but not even close to good by today's standards.

It wasn't even decent when they signed it. Just better than they had before. If they come to the group with a TA and the pay rates look like Allegiants I suspect many, like me, wouldn't even read the rest. Automatic no vote and change of leadership would be in order.

And then enjoy another year, minimum in negotiations. Lot's to learn in this game. Time value of money and the tough battle of signing bonus over retro.

Good Luck!!

I've been paid pennies on the dollar my entire career. I will not settle for less than those who are flying the same planes, with less passengers, to the same airports for less profitable airlines. I paid just as much for my training and after the last 15 years in this industry it is time for EVERYONE to be paid. If Spirit is unwilling to pay market rate, this airline will fail in the next 10 years.

Ahhh..If only the industry and the world worked that way. As another poster said on the NMB thread, That's like saying Atlas and other cargo carriers should or will be compensated the same as FEDEX and UPS for doing the same work. Just not very realistic.

Perhaps you are right and the ULCC model will not last another decade but that's a different argument.

Then you obviously don't understand Bendo & Co.'s strategy. I'll simplify: 1) Kick it down the road as long as possible, 2) When 1 can no longer prevail, ensure NMB pressures NC to provide a TA to MEC that will be approved for vote, and ratify by no more or less than 51%.

That's a slim margin but you bet your sweet ass that's what they're going for. You'll never see the "deal of the century". With 11 years of seniority/longevity, I've resigned myself to the realization that the MEC will never be able to present to me a TA worthy of a yes vote.
