I wonder if we might gamble on something like a 330 given our affinity for heading south. Or if we’ll just wait on Airbus to get the NEO right and then try it with a 321 LR.

FWIW, Bendo came into our NH class and the question was asked about a new a/c order and if Spirit would consider a second type. His response was that they have looked at all options and a second type was certainly a viable option. He claims that when “ordering 100-200 airframes, the cost of operating a second type is minimal in the grand scheme of things”. This was about 8 months ago.

It sounds like he's been tag-teamed by an airframer sales rep and an accountant who has no actual flying experience...

Teddy talks about the next 3-5 years. Narrow body and no Hawaii.

1. I’m pretty sure the interviewer was crushing on Ted

2. How can these investment groups be so ignorant? She asked about slowing growth in 2019. Hello those deliveries have been set for five years. Noted: Ted said as much in his answer.

3. Asked about attracting pilots (pilot shortage). Are they really so stupid they just believe what they are told by A4A? This pilot shortage thing really gained momentum so much it can’t be stopped I guess. There is no shortage. Any operation that pays doesn’t have a problem. Because there is a shortage of family doctors doesn’t mean there is a shortage of doctors. It just means there is no money in family practice so docs go into specialties. Same amount of docs coming out of med school. Same goes for pilots. Is there shortage of investment groups? Seems to be no end of bullshiiiit conferences of idiots that do nothing but shuffle money around and create zero goods or services.

According to a mechanic in FLL switching from the 1000's to the leaps is possible even with the current NEO aircraft we have now but it would probably be a pain in the butt. So really the NEO's issues aren't on airbus its with the engine providers. Though I haven't really heard of any issues on the leap variant?

LEAP has not had problems that I've heard of but they are less fuel efficient.

Are we still having problems with the NEO? I haven't heard anything lately.

You're right. It is in engine manufacturer thing. I was making a broad statement. I imagine the that we'd have already made the switch if Pratt weren't bending over backward to make their launch customer whole with downed airplanes.

I'm curious how much less efficient a Leap is. Seems like a plane that is still far more fuel efficient than the CEO's is a better option than an even more fuel efficient plant that breaks a lot. Then again, Pratt will eventually get the motors right. Usually happens when pushing the boundaries of modern technology.

Nor have I, but its probably relative. Engines that now start shedding parts at 2-3000 hours compared to 600 seem suddenly reliable. Maybe the issues have been largely solved.
