True that. I was just talking through some of the strategies that may come into play with bidding now vs next year. I agree the with you, the only unknown is how green MCO will be.

Has to be 75% green
Mco will be all green most likely. I see very few drops on the CA side at least and open time will get gobbled up by those that couldn’t hold it. Rsv in MCO will be a beard growing competition until at least next summer. Easy street

That is what I'm hoping for at least. I was all set to move to FLL next month until this happened...

That's just false. November 1st placement is what determines your vacation bid for 2019 per the CBA

So crazy to see the plans for MCO according to your management they are anticipating to have 500 FAs and 500 pilots based in MCO by the end of April 2019.

Dont conflate vacation bid/awards with 7.B.10...
A pilot who voluntarily changes position (status, category, or
domicile) must drop his assigned vacation for the vacation
position into open vacation and shall rebid vacation from
open vacation in his new position. In the event there is no
open vacation available for bid in the new position, he shall
be allowed to carry over his vacation hours to the next year.
A pilot who is displaced shall retain his original vacation bid
award.
Based on your assumption, with senior guys going down to MCO in Dec, and you claiming they can keep their Christmas vacation, what assumes MCO will have enough CAs to do the flying during the holiday week? Also it clearly states a carveout for displaced pilots keeping their original bid, not voluntary.
Based on contract language, anyone going to MCO will lose any vacation bid for 2018. I am not aware of the company posting MCO vacation slots for December, pilots will be able to roll their vacation over to 2019
Nov 1 is to establish how we bid for 2019, which is where we are now. We are all bidding based on our Nov 1st seat/base position. Which is why we aren't bidding for 2019 MCO, because nobody is based there as of Nov 2018

But it is still a lot. They will have 50 for December, so they "need" 250 more pilots with the 4 vacancy bids leading into April 30th. Considering we are not hiring that many pilots, something will have to give.
