Since it’s becoming pretty clear based on your numerous responses in the last 48 hours that you are in fact one of these FOs (despite telling us over and over how it’s not you), how would YOU handle yourself in this situation? Give us a breakdown of the conversation you’d have and how we can make you feel happy and safe enough to want to fly with us again.

I am definitely not one of "these" FOs. I try to be as prepared as possible for each flight. Have I missed things....sure. I am certainly not arrogant enough to claim to be above screwing something up. I am perfectly capable of messing up. I admit it and learn from it if it happens. Let me guess....that doesn't ever happen with you? I think my view from the start has been that there is no reason to be a d*ck in the cockpit. I've also conceded that there is a huge difference in someone with less experience and someone who is just lazy. Judging by the attitude, I doubt there is anything you could do to make me want to fly with you. I greatly appreciate a captain who is knowledgeable and interested in making me a better pilot. I do not appreciate someone who feels they are above another pilot, or demeaning.

Just so I have it straight for my Spirit interview....when they ask "what makes a good captain?", the answer is " someone who stares at their FO until they figure out what they missed, or tells them to "do their job"". Do I have that right?

Don't listen to these fools. 95% of people you fly with here are great, of course there's always the 5% of a$$ clowns and it seems that they're the most vocal on these forums. There's a reason there's always 2 of us in the flight deck, and that's to back each other up.

Hoooooly Moly...be careful what you say! You'll upset the upper classmen (upper classpeople?).

I know it's a small percentage of people who act like this, but it bothers me. If they act like this on here, I am positive they act like it on the flight deck and in my opinion, there is no room for ego and attitude in the cockpit.

I'm with Russs on this one. And BTW, most of the newbies I have flown with are quite good, including the sub-2000 hour specimens.

I cant even blame new guys for being new, not their fault. Hell, the company is now having new hires do their type oral after their sims are completed, because the regulations require 50 hours multi to take the ATP oral, and we are hiring guys with less than 50 hours multi, so they need the sim time to count towards their 50 hours total multi time.

No offense, but I feel that this industry may not be for you.

Please validate my feelings so that I can feel important.
