Thank you, I really appreciate that! Credit to excargodog for helping me to see the error in my ways, so to speak. Everyone I genuinely speak with tells me it is a great place to be with great people.
I can take ball busting as much as I can give it....and you're right...its fun when I'm bored. I don't want to actually p*ss anyone off or make myself sound like a pr*ck though. I can assume you, I am not.
I have a lot to learn still and value the more experienced guys info and advice on here. When the time comes, I may just take you up on that offer!
Sorry to OP for derailing the thread.

just talk on the radio like you got your private more than a week ago. The number of pilots I’m running into that literally can not function on the radio is mind blowing. I remember my first day in a jet at an airline and I don’t remember the radio being a struggle at all. The littlest things like calling for push seem to be next to impossible for more than a few these days and it’s maddening.

my favorite is when ATC asks what your Mach number is, The pilot tells them, then they add all this extra unnecessary chatter by asking what mach they need, as if ATC is going to keep it a secret from you…. Like why the F do you waste your breath with that extra sentence?

That doesn't really have anything to do with inexperience. Thats been asked as long as I can remember. I think a lot of pilots pick up a lot of "pilot lingo" over time on the radio and sometimes it gets worked into their own personal bank. I just hope "only a nibble" doesn't get worked in when describing bumps! Heard that one a few times.......uggh!
