Quote: The IAG order for 200 MAX includes a complete Airbus fleet swap for 120 airframes at Vueling over several years.
I have my answer.

Quote: Still radio silence???? Very odd considering the Paris Airshow ended a few weeks ago. I’m starting to think Boeing’s chances are improving. An Airbus add-on (or even just adding the new A220s) should have been a slam dunk...

Odd? Really? Last year everyone was saying they will announce an order at the Paris Airshow, I’m not holding my breath for another aircraft order.

They’ve publicly announced numerous times to the investment community that an order will happen this year... highly doubt they would spew that much verbal defacation if it weren’t actually gonna happen... everyone needs to relax... it’s coming... works on managements timeline not ours

Quote: In case you haven't noticed our fleet plan has grown from 144 to 180 airframes without a single order. They also stated on the Q1 conference call that they've found additional airframes to keep 15% YOY growth through 2023 until the deliveries with the new order begin. That's an additional 90 airframes without an order. I wouldn't be too concerned.
I've stated on at least two occasions that Spirit will grow to 270 airframes in the next five years. Apparently I was wrong. We're growing to 280 airframes in the next five years.

Jeff Thomson: When you joined Spirit nearly seven years ago, you had the opportunity to build the finance function from scratch, just as the airline was expanding. As the now CFO, how has the finance team grown alongside the company’s own evolution from just 40 aircraft to 140? What role do you play in setting the company’s growth strategy?

Scott Haralson: Growing a company more than 200% in about six years with sights on doubling again over the next five is difficult and complex.

Most of the folks at HQ are saying 300 total planes is the goal.

Quote: 3 airplanes from a Spanish carrier, 2 old returned leases from an Italian carrier and 5 more from the Chinese.

All deals made with reps from other carriers they had dinner with at the Paris airshow.
I repeat!

The fleet plan just moved from 180 to 193 by 2021. It's not the order we all want but it's moving in the right direction.

Still beats a B737 order by a long shot....
And yes, I totally agree, we haven't had any orders since 2015(?), but the fleet plan has gone from 140 to 193. I would rather have some lease returns on the property than an announcement for a LOI somewhere in the future...

I'll add that it's moved from 144 to 193 by 2021 without an order. There's still another 97 airframes they're shopping for in the open market.
