MOCK BIDS NAVBLUE PBS 70percentile

Yeah. Really conflicted about that one. It is really the best thing we currently have in getting average days off up. It still allows 6 on 4 off, so 12 days off total for literally every hard-line. What I would really like is the way SWA does it: hard line maximum work days averages 13/13.5 days in a 30/31 day month, so hard lines have at least 17 days off per month on average. We currently have about 15 days off, and our average hard line credit is about 10hrs lower. Even if we got average days off up to 15 it would be a win already, but not having any of that waving days off isn't great. My problem is I need a weekly cycle for the family, and I probably can't get 3 on, 4 off.

And for the total number of days off, waiving the minimum number of days off in between pairings has no effect on it. The system still has to build you at least the Minimum Credit Window regardless whether you waive a certain number of days between pairings or not. With the PBS rig of minimum 5 hours Average Daily Credit, this equals 14 working days in my base. So the theoretical minimum number of days off if you're willing to accept the 69 hour Minimum Credit Window line is 16 - although you would probably only have 15 or 14 since it would have to find the right trip to get you over the threshold and that trip might be a couple days too long. You're not waiving your minimum total number of days off, just the number of days off in between pairings.
Let me know if I'm crazy about this. The above is based on my past experience with PBS at another carrier and what I've learned so far about ours.

The real problem is it is a handicap with PBS. It should have been negotiated away or kept during this cycle. Not this in between junk. Anyone not bidding super senior will see better lines by waiving 5/4 days and unless the union decides to put the kibosh on it in 6 months it will have no value during our next negotiations.
