Made it sound like the July class wasn’t full yet. Yes 56 a month from July on

Does anyone know if you need to be current when showing up for new hire training? If I get a class date in July that will make me around 3-4 months of not flying. Was thinking about just getting a 320 type so I don’t run into any problems of getting into a class.

Fairly certain once you have a class date currency is not needed. We had guys furloughed over a year in my class. I hadn't flown in at least 3-4 months myself.

But things have changed since the last contract was signed vs pre contract.
You will have a few on these forums who hate their situation in life and do nothing but complain about this place and how nobody wants to stay here, and everyone is looking to leave. Thats really just them displacing their feelings of inadequacy onto others.
Fact is attrition is very low and the stack of applications is still tall, and grew since the contract, raising the minimums in the process.
So to your question; yes you need to nail the "why Spirit," but also the rest of the questions they ask. The universal to being interviewed at Spirit is that they are trying to hire the personality, and not the resume. You really need to come off as someone who fits the culture of the airline.
If you have an interview, definitely do an interview prep and for out all of your answers you might be asked, subscribe to aviation interviews and see what's being asked these days, and get them down to flow natural.
Spirit is a multi million dollar career and its worth taking the effort to nail the entire interview, not just the "why spirit" question. And remember t not step too deep in the negative cry baby dung you see on the forums at times with a few of our guys

So I think the conventional wisdom had been that Spirit is scared of people coming and then leaving. So they used the "why Spirit" as a test to see if you're really in for the long haul or to use Spirit as a stepping stone.

Laid back, friendly, calm and collected. The cockpit is the exact opposite you see when jumpseating on Delta. We embrace the business model and while it's annoying to hear people complain about "bag fees" and all, we love our jobs and defend our company. Not everything is perfect contact wise or our occasional but predictable meltdowns. Basically they hire guys or gals that can have a friendly 4 day. They don't want egotistical people, complainers, rigid, or careless.

I got an email giving me a few different choices of days for the phone interview.
I did look on my profile and it said "under review" just like it had said for months but what did change was the "last updated" date. Apparently they marked something about me moving along in the interview process.
Phone interview was last Friday (4-19-19) and was offered a face to face interview at the end of the conversation. I chose the first available which is tomorrow (4-26-19)
About a day after the phone interview my status changed to "hidden". Whatever that means... hopefully something good

Interview went pretty good... or at least I think so... still waiting for offer or TBNT call/email.
19 guys interviewing:
-about 5 135 guys including me
- 1 767 and 1 747 FO for ATLAS
- 1 737 FO for Swift air
- 2 Cape Air guys
- 1 active military guy that will retire in June
- 1 787 FO for AVIANCA (Colombia)
- Everybody else was 121 Regional (mostly captains)
They said they will hire 56 /month until further notice but at least until December and need about 300 by the end of the year.
Starting classes every Monday tentatively.
They said if you get called for the interview the job is yours to lose depending on how you do that day.
Interviews every Friday... this next one they had 13 guys already confirmed.
The few guys I talked to had as little as 3000 and as much as 11000 hours
