So without the liner is still very warm and not a shoulder season jacket. Ok well I guess I’ll stick with my leather then

Anyone interested in a small to medium swap or in buying a medium off me? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Will they not exchange it?

Okay. So there is some confusion I think. Maybe.
There is the Karbon Aviator II Jacket. This is the actual jacket you need to buy. It has the sleeves on the shoulders for your epaulettes and the “name badge” area is for your Spirit Wings. An additional option you can buy is what is called the Down Sweater. This Down Sweater is what people are referring to as the North Face Style jacket. Personally, I love it. So. These are two individual pieces and can be worn separately. People refer to the North Face Style jacket (Down Sweater) as the Inner liner. Yes and No. The Down Sweater doesn’t attach itself to the Aviator Jacket. You simply wear the North Face Style Down Sweater and then you put your Aviator Jacket on over it. Your wearing two jackets essentially. A thin one and then your thicker work one on top. I bought both and, as of now, I wear the Aviator Jacket to work and not my Down Sweater (North Face Style). As it gets colder I will bring it along as well. Size wise this is my experience: As a Medium the North Face Jacket fits perfectly. I love it. The Aviator Jacket fits a bit big, BUT, that is me wearing it without the North Face underneath it. When I wear the Aviator with the North Face it fits as it should. I’m 5’9 and 170 lbs. All in all I am glad I bought both. The North Face style inner jacket is perfect and I have been wearing it out on the town. It’s nice for fall 40-50 degree type temperatures. Once it gets below freezing I’ll throw the Aviator ontop and be set. Reminder to buy the Velcro Epaulets since the shoulder straps are sewn in and can’t be unbuttoned to slide them on. Also order the blank name badge. That is what you attach your wings to. Then when you want to wear it out, outside of work, rip off the Epps and wings (name badge) and there you have your jacket to wear out to a bar/restaurant. I’m not going to get into whether we should have had to pay for this. That’s another time. All I will say is, this is a very good quality jacket and I’m very glad impressed with it. |

In other words, would you be tempted to order smaller based on trying just the shell, and if you opted for the liner it would end up being too snug? |

Could this... Maybe... Possible be.... the time management says "no more dressing like trash?" We shall see... |

It's still really easy to look like trash with stuff straight from the approved vendor. Seems like quite a few would benefit from a mandatory size fitting, what appropriate dress shoes look like, and the definition of "good condition, neat, clean, and well pressed".
We are still at elementary level “wear the correct clothes” Once we learn to add, we can attempt multiplication |
Sounds like these jackets are running a size too small! Get mine Friday will report back. It was shipped Fedex today from some sports outfit in Ontario California

While we’re on the subject, why can’t people wear the damned wings appropriately?! Approximately 1 inch ABOVE the left pocket people! Not below the pocket, not on the pocket, and not on the damned shirt! Ugh, is it really that hard to read?!

So if we got a leather jacket at 3 years, we need to wait 6 more years to expense this jacket?

Fun fun |
I ordered a leather jacket at 3 years. When I upgraded I ordered the Captain upgrade blazer (included with upgrade package) and returned it due it it’s size. If I am understanding the above correctly I should be able to expense the Karbon II as apart of upgrade?

So you ordered a leather at 3 years, you get another 6 years from then. Fun, right? This is the position they are taking. 6 years from leather reimbursement. Even though the contract says 6 years from date on receipt. |
Clearly the company cares about appearance when the uniform provider (HPI) distributes complete garbage. There is no way to look "professional" in anything HPI produces, its all complete crap.

Spirit has a long history of providing (or not providing) low quality, unwearable uniforms, lengthy periods without an approved vendor, not having pieces in bases to try on, changes and rumors of change, etc. To all of a sudden decide they want us to be uniform is almost laughable. Police yourselves, use sound judgment, and order every last piece of uniform you have coming to you, whether you plan to use it or not. We should start a co-op of donated uniform pieces for first year pilots considering what they are paid.

Got my jacket and liner today. Very impressed and a very nice, high quality uniform piece.
6’0” , 204lbs, 34-36 inch waist, medium build. Ordered size Medium and the jacket fits perfect. Had to pull the bottom draw strings in an inch on each side. The extra liner is medium and is snug but light and nice addition as well. Probably can’t gain too many lbs and still wear the extra liner zippered however. Main Jacket fits perfect. |
Still got an M that’s too big for me: $190 including the name board. If anyone wants it just PM.
|
People talking about what looks professional, if its ugly or not, blah blah blah and we got pilots wearing velcro orthopedic sneakers.

No liner just the jacket. Damn thing is very warm so I can’t foresee a need for the liner except for extreme situations. |

Guess which was the only airline that didn't cancel into ORD during the -40 cold snap last winter? That liner might come in handy.

Chicago didn't get below -23F last year, and the all-time record low is -27F, so I'm sure it was fine. Oil doesn't care about windchill.
|
Fair enough, but people sure do care! I've done the "farm chores in wind chills of 40 degrees below zero" thing. Take my word for it. It's cold. :p
