Hello all, my application has been “under review” since March and I’m wondering if there’s anything I can do to help it along. I assume some face time would help, are there any Meet the Chiefs events coming up? I know I’ve missed most of the association conferences already this year. Anything else you can recommend? Thanks.

Hey there; curious, did you end up getting on with a regional and getting your unrestricted ATP? I saw previously you did not have one. So if not, you’ll need that to meet the mins.

If you do, you need some face time. I have no idea how they do MTC events, thinks it’s on Facebook. But find any way for face time with the company if you want to distinguish yourself from the stack of applicants.

Honestly with the huge hiring wave about to start here next month at Spirit, I wouldn’t be surprised if they once again find themselves with a shortage of “qualified” applicants; so anything to get face time I think would be huge. Last time we had a shortage of applicants we dropped the mins to a pulse and breath and were hiring on the spot at MTC events.

There are so many rj captains out there, I’m sure we will be fine for the next few years at least

That’s true and a lot of them don’t want to take the paycut to $56 with $1750/mo for two months with no health insurance. And quite honestly I don’t blame them. We as group dropped the ball on new hire pay and benefits. I hear already in this big hiring push we are starting to get some “interesting” folks just like right before the contract.

First year pay everywhere else except frontier is about $90 with healthcare and 15-16% retirement contribution from day one.

Thanks for the reply. Yep I’ve been at a regional for a year and a half with unrestricted ATP, about to head to upgrade. I’ve searched around for their MTC events on fb and elsewhere, still looking.

5300TT 1100TPIC (Part 91) and Part 91 CP

I’ll keep trying. Is it common for applications to sit on “under review” for a long time?

6000TT 1000TPIC (All 121) and 3 type ratings with college 2 internal recs and no skeletons still won’t get ya past “under review” since Jan.

Dropped the ball? Far from. You don't waste negotiating capital on people who aren't on property. If the pay is preventing the company from getting quality candidates they will become very eager to go back to the negotiating table. In exchange for higher first year pay, the association will seek improvements in the contract that will help pilots who are on property and paying dues.
