So pretty much what your saying is life sucks unless you live in base while on reserve. Even then you cant truly plan anything.

With reserve being a moving target, calendar wise, life could really suck the first year considering training pay and what your speaking too????

Unless you live in base, reserve QOL is awful. Then it's only terrible.

You either get your RAP or your days off, not both (hopefully maybe).

But it's okay, you're not on reserve forever! MEC sales sheet bullet point something something... it's in the notes something something.

Name an airline anywhere that reserve doesn’t suck for a commuter. It’s part of the industry.

I bid 138 of 138 for September. I needed the weekend of the 12-14th off and got it.

Did people really think that gravy train was going to last forever?

Maybe if you didn’t have people abusing the system by checker boarding we’d still be able to drop.

What happens if you ask for all of your days off in a row? Has anyone tried this?

I can name some with significantly higher pay, benefits, profit sharing, blah, blah, blah.

Industry standard reserve without the industry standard compensation.

"Why don't you put your apps out?"
"I got mine. What's the problem?"
"Reserve is supposed to suck."

Feel free to add to the rebuttal list. I'm sure I'll find them fascinating.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don’t think it sucks. I’m a commuter. It is what it is and won’t be forever
