Question Training footprint questions

I understood some of what they told us at the group interview, but not all
2 wks indoctrination @ FLL
1 wk CBT @ home
CSI @ FLL - 8 lessons - how long (days)? one a day? M-F or 7 days?
Oral
FTD @ FLL - 4 lessons - how long (days)? one a day? M-F or 7 days?
These last 3 seem like 13 days, which might take 3 weeks - right?
Sims - 5 events - a week or longer?
LOFT
EET
?where is the type ride in the sequence?
OE 30 hours minimum

Overall they said 2 month foot print - I think that was excluding OE.
Any recent/current information would be appreciated

8-9 weeks total is accurate. CSI/FTD/Sim schedule is hit or miss, days off will very.

can one expect to be 100% in FLL the whole 8 weeks?

No problem if so, just wondering. Thanks!

ok thanks. Essentially what I was asking was, is it 8 weeks purely away from home without interruption. In other words, will you be away from family the entire time or able to occasionally slip home. Thanks!

Unless your family is in either FLL or DFW, or planning to come visit, I'd plan on being gone 100% of the time after the 1 week of home study. There very likely won't be 2+ day gaps off for you to "occasionally slip home". I'm sure you've been through enough training by now to know how it works. Do your time, pass, and go enjoy home. You and your family should understand how initial training works at this point.

thanks for the info! Of course I understand, absolutely. Which is why in my post I said it was absolutely fine either way. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. My wife should actually be glad to see me after that :-) Thanks again!

I had two different stints of 4-5 days off. One was after the oral and one was after FTDs. I went home for one and my girlfriend came to FLL for one. The training department doesn’t condone it and won’t positive space you home, but you can jumpseat. Just keep in mind, if you don’t make it back, you’re screwed.
