The union sent an email today.

The union should do everything it can to improve the financial/QOL lives of new-hires. Of course the company’s solution would be to throw all the money at new hires (or whatever subgroup they wish to incentivize) and leave the rest of the pilot group in the cold. The union has a responsibility to prevent this as well.

Aside from management pilots, the company can not just go around throwing non-contractual bonuses at their preferred pilots. Nor can they offer cars, profit sharing, improved medical plans, or free groceries to new hires. The union needs to make sure any windfall in management generosity is shared by the entire pilot group.

As such, any retention scheme for new hires must be applied evenly across the entire seniority list.

Same old bunch of nothing. Company agreed to aggressive bargaining through the rest of the year, we aren't at liberty to discuss what we're working on. Same old blah blah that you'd expect.

Bargaining through early December.... Reminds me of 2015 when we thought we were close to a deal in December and Bendover dropped that they wanted transition gone.... I'm not getting my hopes up. At least our NC walked away.

Yeah, this will be fun. Meanwhile, pilots will continue to leave in droves.

Going to have to do something with every regional now paying $30+ more an hour than feeeeeerrrrrrsssssttttt year pay. Guess on Monday’s when no one is in the new hire classroom they’ll take another recruitment party down under.

That could be a possibility. I’m sure they’ll find some 1500 hour wonders just dying to fly an Errrbus….for substandard wages.

Something something doomed to repeat it.

Of course somewhere around half of our pilots were not here for this history and probably do not know the whole story about how the last round of negotiations truly were conducted by management. (Bad faith would be putting it mildly)

Am secretly hoping we don’t have to relive 2015-2018 again. Then I remember Bendo is still here.
