Frontier just cut their MIA-LGA and MIA-BOS routes, why on Earth would they need more gates

Reality has nothing to do with DOJ thinking.

DOT is a joke and powerless. You mean the DOJ.

No judge can stop this merger. There is no overlap. The AA partnership may have to go.

why post that here? If we wanted to know about jb attrition we can go over to your pages. We don’t get monthly number anymore so we can’t even compare.

No, I am in fact talking about the DOT. They appear to be coordinating efforts with the DOJ, and I’ve never seen that before is what I’m saying.

According to Reuters and court documents, the two airlines then filed an exemption application asking the DOT to permit them to operate under common ownership prior to a requested transfer application that seeks approval to combine and operate international routes under one certificate.

The DOT response was swift and decisive. Nope.

Officials cited the "DOJ's conclusion that the proposed merger would have anti-competitive effects, and the pendency of the federal lawsuit challenging the legality of the transaction."

Well, if they are citing the pending lawsuit then when the DOJ loses the lawsuit the DOT won't have a leg to stand on.
