Correct, and 2022 was predicted to be when the hiring “flood gates” open. Hence why we’ve had 50 leave so far in January.- from union reps mouth.

Hire 72- lose 50, upgrade 10. Makes sense.

says 112 pilots left. That’s 112 not added to the seniority list.

not to worry January numbers are going to be a wake up call when they are published

112 left. 67 to other airlines . How many that left not because they wanted too ? Aka retirements, firings, failures. Basically half of the numbers left because they wanted too. That email also said 395 hired. 67 left because they didn’t want to be here anymore. Attrition without doubt is picking up and will become something that needs to be addressed. As the previous poster said , it’s great leverage time for pilots.

So we’re on course to almost match the entire 2021 attrition to other airlines in January alone. Got it.

Says you . I haven’t read anything official to that number. And even if your 50 number is true then so be it .. 2021 not scary numbers.
ONE month into 2022 it’s frightening..spirits in deep trouble..
got it .

How many legacy pilots have we hired ? I can’t believe they aren’t coming in droves for the great QL we have . This place will be hiring net zero by April . They will cut summer flying or park the 319s or both

I’m already concerned.. but I’m not panicked or terrified. And I don’t think it puts a tombstone on the future of this company.. the board won’t let this place just disappear and whither away. My assumption is big changes are
coming for the entire industry, spirit included. Consolidation being the most obvious. And who knows we may all get an unexpected pay bump in the near future. I just find the people quick to write the future of this place off because of some unverified numbers need to chill. It’s similar to human psychology with the stock market. When the market is tanking they panic (usually sell low) and feel the pain will continue forever. Panic sets in. But one month or year does not a market/airline make. Take a deep breath and don’t run for the exits because you see others doing it. If you wanna leave leave. I just feel the current concern in the chat board is overblown.

Where is everyone going? Just AA, UAL and Delta?

That’s a fair statement. Spirit isn’t going anywhere and if it works you then stay but if your under 40 it’s crazy not to jump to a legacy on this wave. United is extremely close to inking a deal with AA right behind them and once that’s finished the attrition will increase significantly.
