Anyone with a sizable amount of intelligence is probably not going to be overly interested in engaging with someone like him, but you are right, valid points nonetheless.

One dude puts in the effort to make a profile on APC for the express purpose of bashing the company in this thread, as opposed to just throwing out apps and moving on.

Your livelihood is junior hires. Just food for thought.
Im not saying you are the shill.. actually been trying to be very polite about that but if you slander the rest of comments that dont fit your seniorish captain/been there done that bill then I dont know what you expect.
Vestment? I thought that was a joke. At 20, 40 or whatever percent its all free money.
My poopy cup is questionably full atm.

How we get this fixed is difficult to answer, but if we dont, I see little reason people would pick us over any of the others. We cant hang our hat on the old mantra of "qol, qol, qol" anymore as it has been proven that our peers can and do get more days off, with better pay. Anyway rant over, but I will add I am still super happy to be here and generally love coming into work.

You have to drown out the few voices here that look for confrontation at every corner. Predominantly Spirit has amazing people working the line and all have been a pleasure to work with. I am proud to have this job and it is one that I worked to get even prior to the Covid meltdowns. I am new here, less than a year for sure, but even I agree that the vestment schedule is OK, however I do agree it should be on par with our industry standards. I am fully on board with needing to improve life for new hires as it will drive our growth, but keep in mind this is the same group of people that stacked our pay rates closer to the 7 year mark and beyond. It will take a change in thinking to get things done most likely, but I am optimistic for it. If we see upgrades approaching five years, something in the lower pay scales will need to change as it just doesn't make sense to earn 30k less a year than our peers, still have the same upgrade time and then make less than our peers again.

once upon a time in the mid 2000s CFIs we’re hired straight to turbine powered airplanes… even 250hr wonder kids from ATP. So how would this be any different?

It’s simple, I look at the last 10 years of Spirit and the ups and downs and how much we have progressed as an airline. If the next 10 years continue to change like the last 10 years we are in great shape. Then compare the last 10 years of say American Airlines, or United. It’s kind of like investing, the long game is where people make the money. YMMV, you have to make a decision that is right for you. But a lot of the chatter on this forum is emotional immaturity. If you are bailing from Spirit because of a few meltdowns and a four hour scheduling hold then you are going to have a rough up-and-down career. If however you are leaving because you’ve always wanted to work for a legacy or you live in base or you are young, it’s a great decision. No one in Flight school looks up in the sky and says one day I hope I work for Spirit Airlines. I get it, I didn’t either. But I’m happy to be here and I’ve gone through 9/11 and understood the grass is pretty much always brown. Good luck to everyone bailing, and to those staying, minibrief.
