True.

And others have said, not my F’in problem where the money comes from, let Bendo beg for cash at the red lights. Pilots are more expensive, that’s their problem. Just like in years past when contracts were gutted and we had a surplus of pilots was our problem.

FUPM

FUPM indeed. They took advantage of the situation when the supply & demand was in their favor. Now it’s time for us to feed. Let’s go!

untill you come to a construction zone. Mine had no idea how to handle a contra flow lane. Or something other than a normal situation.

Suprised yours didn’t fall apart before getting to work. I had many quality issues and glitches ended up selling it after 3-4 months.

I don't think the robots are taking our jobs soon. But saving money for retirement is really important and should be emphasized more

C-suite gave themselves 18 months of pay to sign a contract, nobody asked us if we think they deserve that. Maybe we shouldn't worry what they think about our ask. If they can extra money for them, they can afford COLA+raise for us.

Exactly.

I'll probably shock someone with this statement, but Pilots have big egos.

Management plays into this personality trait by convincing pilots that we can make or break an airline based on what we're paid. Since we already believe we're the center of every universe, it's not a big step for us to believe that our salaries are critical to the survival of our airline. Fact is that decisions far above our heads will determine the profitability and ultimately, the survival of our airline.

We should earn market wages. NOT "discount pilot" market wages as ALPA national and our bosses would have us believe. MARKET WAGES. We fly between 180 and 236 passengers at every departure. Pilots flying 180 to 236 passenger aircraft should be our market comparator. Our compensation should include all forms of compensation: Profit Sharing, Hourly Wages, Retirement Contribution, Per Diem, Time Away from Family... (rig), Days off, etc. We absolutely SHOULD NOT accept the premise that we are sub-standard pilots because we fly for an ULCC and therefore should be paid less. Alpa National bought this premise in our contract the last time and we are therefor not compensated appropriately. I was told face-to-face in front of a crowd during recurrent ground school by a negotiating committee member (here at F9) that we are actually paid more than same Legacy narrobody pilots because we have the ability to work more each month and we're paid at 125% for everything over 82 credit hours. I was flabbergasted and questioned his logic, but he stood firm. That about sums it up.

I'm hoping that the combination of our two airlines will provide for more, ahem... seasoned... representatives on the negotiating committee. I'm also hoping that our group of 4500+ pilots versus the tiny 2018 group of F9 pilots will be sufficient to garner more vigorous representation from ALPA national.

I agree with all the above.

This is our time to get our contact on a level playing field.

No doubt we made huge progress on our current contract but we must keep moving forward

Wishful thinking for the NK side of this equation. 2 of our 3 negotiators are from the same 'discount pilot' mentality that delivered our subpar 2018 contract.

If the joint negotiating team doesn't come through then we vote down the JCBA and demand that both MEC's replace the negotiating committee. If the MEC's refuse to recall the negotiators then we demand through our LEC's a recall of the MEC's. My crystal ball says that this is exactly what we will have to do.
