I was thinking the newly established lanyard thread might have gotten us back on track in here...I was wrong. Oh well.

Agreed. Also. I don't wear a lanyard. No reason. Just don't like stuff dangling on my neck. Thought I would contribute.

Me either. I’m a badge reel guy. Lanyards make my ID bounce off my chest and it’s annoying.

I think the key to them working is that they need to make a strong statement, hence the strike ones you guys wore last time. I am all for using them for things like that, but I wouldn't judge someone for not using the basic ALPA one in day to day stuff.
Funny thing about guys that don’t wear the lanyard is that it’s the same guys with the North Face, same ones with the different shade pants, the same ones that don’t tip van drivers. Y’all seem to be your own club. Stick out like a sore thumb.
But you keep on doing you and I will keep on doing me and covering your van tips, showing up to picketing events after jumpseating in from a flyover state so I can support my fellow aviators.

where do you stand on me? I wear nice tailored pants that don’t come from spirits vendor (and are most likely a different shade of navy) and I ALSO wear the lanyard over my clean, pressed, tailored shirt.

i also carry so many $1 bills that it looks like I’m coming from the club.

am I in both clubs or neither?

And lanyards look sloppy. You can’t keep track of your license and your medical so you have to wear it around your neck like a house cat with a bell. Thanks for giving the van driver a $1 tip after I bought your dinner and drinks. We are square.

You only look professional if you wear exactly what the company allows in the FOM and from the company vendor. Tailoring is not provided so whatever is off the shelf is your perfect professional size, and it looks damn good.
