AA, and Legacies, can price match all they want, but they'll certainly be losing money on a per route cost. Sure, they'll keep doing it (particularly from AA towards South Florida), but they're also on track to lose more than $1 Bill this year; whilst United and Delta are expected to make profit.

They can price match all they want, but they can't compete in the long term. Well... there's always bankruptcy. Which, AA will need a miracle, over the next few years to avoid it anyway.
This post is hilarious to read after the Q2 earnings are in. 52m loss in a quarter which you claimed is historically the easiest quarter to make money in.

AA doesn’t have to sell their entire plane at Spirit fares. Just enough seats to skim a few spirit passengers. Looks like it’s working as AA made money and spirit lost money.

Yep. That’s the entire metric that is looked at. So just out of pure curiosity, when Spirit makes a profit next quarter, I guess you will say it’s not working anymore? Or will other factors be involved. Hmmmmm

They are forecasting to lose money again next quarter.

Last to profitability from the pandemic at this rate.

Yup. Can’t get our crap together, so we’ll just cancel more flights to prevent another meltdown. What a joke.

Honestly we aren’t even smart enough to schedule and cancel, at least locking in some revenue. They keep blaming ATC in Florida, forcing them to not even run a full schedule. They are bragging about how good the operation is, when running at an unprofitable 80% scheduling.

It’s like running only 3/4 of a mile and bragging about your mile time, it doesn’t count.

But hey, let’s displace more pilots to the area of the country you blame for the loss and increase flying there. Smart.

i see this as, we’re losing pilots. We refuse to pay NOW. we reduce schedule. We lose money. We lose more pilots, we reduce further.
