Voted no in 2018.

After much consideration of many factors I just submitted my yes vote to the TA.

It is a perfect example. Egg laying chickens are in short supply, for the reason you stated. That means fewer eggs, hence higher prices.
Pilots are in short supply (high demand), thus higher pay is in order.

And yes, completely unrelated to inflation, which someone else was confusing themselves with.

If we had negotiated for 2-3 years and had to live with it for several more the no would've been a slam dunk. There have been many who have switched their votes.

Very, very true!

baseball3792 01-05-2023 09:43 AM

I thought it’d be close at first but it seems like it’ll be closer to 2018 margins at this point

You make a great point, but the bolded above is highly likely given our track record. I'm not expecting much until the JCBA (would love to be wrong), where NK management has zero involvement.

Lincoln Osiris 01-05-2023 04:29 PM

Just because we are being bough by JB is no excuse to lower the bar and screw the rest of our peers.

Frontier and allegiant would probably be very happy to take this TA if offered to them right now

Not an excuse either, lot of talk for a guy that can't even vote.

Well said….

ZooKeeper 01-06-2023 04:52 AM

We will be far from the least paid Airbus or 737 drivers.

I can’t speak for Allegiant but over at F9 I doubt we would take that. We have no merger of JCBA on our horizon so we don’t wanna get stuck with subpar rates.

Probably true. Given those same circumstances I would have voted no easily

Yeah, your group said something like that last time, yet you did, you will again, almost guaranteed and nobody will care.

lol we shall see, it was definitely a different time then and we had a lot of catching up to do.

Yeah thats a lie. Pay bump until new negotiations with a merger? makes sense and would be welcomed. But when other people on the outside look in and say "oh hey, look spirit pilots accepted this pay" without thinking about the merger and the fact you guys will be making a new contract anyways. that isnt a good look and you guys lowered the bar real quick after seeing Delta's.

CincoDeMayo 01-06-2023 08:53 AM

Yeah, it’s a different scenario all together.

If this was full section 6, I doubt the NC would have even brought those rates.

This isn’t apples to apples.

Flooded with texts last 48 hrs from union about PUB events and a bunch of junk mail in my PO BOX from them today warning the catastrophic events that will happen if we vote no (already voted no)….

They must be worried

yeah, I know! Enough already. Sure must be nice to get some Hard 8 BBQ or Sonnys though.

Just checking out Teddy's new palace and training complex they are building across the street from the hotel while down here on training. Wonder if one of those catastrophic events would mean construction will stop on that place? I mean why do we need a brand spanking new training facility for all those new FOs we won't be training, or the ones we do train are to help subsidize the training demands of Delta, UA, or United.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the count starts after the voting closes.

Correct, it isnt even a count, per se. For a TA you are free to change your vote up until the close. Once voting closes the totals are sent electronically to the board to certify, sent to the MEC and us shortly. The MEC is not able to watch vote submissions come in, regardless of what some think, there aren't any boxes of votes that Stuart will be sneaking in from Maricopa county.

Halon1211 01-06-2023 07:18 PM

funnies things I have heard from a No voter so far.

”I didn’t even watch or attend the roadshow”

”let’s recall the NC, and we need to start fresh and go after the company on work rules and other things”.

Awesome! Lets all rush to vote yes so we can be paid less than allegiant is offering. Bottom feeder for life should be the new lanyard.

It’s not a TA, it’s a management proposal mailed directly to the pilots, similar to what Spirit management did in ‘17.

Yup the same proposal that ALPA told us to send back and ended up getting the same rate 2 years later lol.

Except we got our 401k overages in cash and LTD. That alone was worth it but let’s not let facts get in the way

If you dont see the gains/differences in the 2018 CBA vs the unsolicited offer Bendo sent to our homes, you really are a blind troll. You are the 10% that will always complain, be unhappy, feel like the union "screwed" you and just plain damn miserable.

And for reference, for some of the newer guys, his screen name refers to guys like him that would go against our pre 2018 contract and accept 200% over the 5 trips every pilot was allowed. You get 5, and that was it. Some pilots said screw it and worked deals with scheduling and circumvented the contract to suit their needs, like this clown, screwing over fellow pilots for their opportunity for some extra cash. And he was upset that some people took note of these people, "gravy chokers", and called them out.

So he complains and then screws over guys in the process. Its all about him, always has, always will. Let me guess, youre a "no voter" on the TA?

To be fair it seems with this TA both yes and no camps are saying they’re trying to NOT screw over the group (be it the apple analogy vs expecting a second better TA relatively fast)
