It's interesting our upgrade times are so similar as Blue's FO and CA attrition are statistically more moderate than NK's.

Able to do what? Have significant time off? I hear people from other airlines claim to have the same option but I'm almost positive NKS ability to drop trips (when you’re a line holder) is superior to other places. Like I said, the big 3 are going to pay you. But they also own you. At least until you get a few years of seniority.

I do live in base. But that shouldn’t matter if you are a line holder.

To add to this, I’ve been on property for a little over a year. I’ve had a line for half that time. Because of my seniority, when my monthly bid award comes out, I usually get close to nothing I ask for (day trips, certain days off). Most months, with a green reserve grid, I am able to rearrange my entire month and get what I want.

For example, January bid award came out with a bunch of 3 and 4-day trips with one redeye. I was able to swap and drop all of it and turned it into an 87 credit hour, 15 day off line with all day trips, except for one pesky two-day. I get to be at home with my 6 month old daughter every night and enjoy life. I’m not leaving NK.

I felt the same way. Until I started weighing the risk of Spirit rules being a thing of the past when Spirit becomes JetBlue. There is risk in either decision, but I don’t believe the schedule flexibility will be a survivor.

Depends on how badly the MEC fights to keep it in the JCBA. Or what JetBlue management is willing to give for it. Barring a bankruptcy contract or at least the threat of one, it’s hard for management to take things away, even in normal times - which this definitely ain’t. It’s the JetBlue pilots and MEC that we need to convince of the value of Spirit rules.

Always love how guys put a huge premium on work rules when we risk losing them but discount them when fixated on hourly rates, they are not mutually exclusive of each other.

I think we can all say we hope everyone who voted yes is right and can say I told you so.

We can't even convince the company of the value of us as a pilot group. I doubt JetBlue will or there pilot group should have any respect for us at this point

Funny, all this time I was voting on the merits of this TA, how it protects NK pilots with the merger, if the merger fails, recession hedge, maybe help attrition. Nowhere did JBLU respect from various vocal loudmouths play into my decision or 69% of this group.

Don’t worry, theirs will pass handsomely too this month and we can decide how much they cared about NK respect with their yes vote.

Grow up kids, this isn’t a popularity contest with other airlines.

I’m not sure why the consternation, the teeth gnashing or the “other pilot groups will look down on us”, the passing of this TA literally added $50K to my annual pay with ZERO concessions, absolutely no change in my schedule and and no change in my work rules.

Amazing how simple it is. Without even factoring in the other issues, it’s that simple. Straight cash in everyone’s check Jan 31
