lol I know someone with two checkride failures, a CRASH, and no degree and they left Spirit for DELTA within the last 6 months

Is there a box on the app that one can check for that?

It's not like they're going to ask to look under the hood or anything

The activities section of the application. Clubs/groups one participates in. That’s where ‘they’ can reveal the reality ‘they’ exist.

Reminds me of the day back in circa 2008 or so the Navy had an EO committee that had decided minorities were not be promoted enough in quantaties from selection boards and it must be the "racist board members" (despite the rule that all promotion boards be staffed with females and minorities already) were seeing the candidates pictures during the tank deliberations and bypassing the minority pictures. So to remedy this, they ordered all pictures to be removed from the official record so that when a candidate went before the promotion board it was just thier fitreps, awards and submission that was considered.

Well fast forward a couple of years and a few boards and low and behold, minority promotion as a % went DOWN, not up as expectd due to the racist board members. In fact it was really hard to give any special consideration (which was often listed in the promotion board precept) to females and minorities when all you had to consider was their record and no name and no photo to consider.

The Navy subsequently said to resubmit official photos to be included in all promotion boards going forward.

Delta was the first of the U.S. hub airlines to introduce basic economy in 2012. United and American followed in 2017. The bare-bones fare enables them to compete more effectively with budget carriers Spirit, Frontier and Allegiant.

Air traffic congestion increases costs as does the pilot shortage.

Cool story. So quote me "the rule that all promotion boards be staffed with females and minorities already".

Yup. DEI. But he sure as what made it sound like there wasn't a single straight white male in those promotion boards..... How about showing me a single board that is less than 50% white male, and I won't ask, you don't tell.

he didn’t make it sound like that at all. I think you just just interpreted it that way.

You completely missed his point. He said people we getting promoted because of the color of their skin and not on merit or how qualified they are.

im kinda disappointed in you Simian. You are one of the better debaters around here on this forum and today you went down the dark straw man argument hole.

im coming down there and trying to pull you out of it.

Im sorry you are too blind to see but it’s not only rampant in military but corporate and government too. In fact people are pretty open about their DEI policies and only hiring/promoting based on boxes they check.

just look at Biden, he made it absolutely clear his last Supreme Court Justices pick was going to do nothing with merit or qualifications but skin color and sex alone.

I mean how awesome would that be if our next round of instructors/check airman were selected because they use they/them pronouns instead of their desire and willingness to teach and how good of a check airmen they are.

I mean, that’s what I would want in my check airman, right?

I am aware of DEI policies. And generally not against them. There was a long time where the policy for plenty of jobs was able bodied straight white male only, either written or unwritten. And I really don't believe that has fully stopped. So a bit of forced equality might still be needed. Do not believe it is a strawman argument. I do realize a lot of people will react to those policies with even more rancor against the preferential hires, and that doesn't help. I also know there are defintely cases of people that should not have gotten hired but played the card effectively (atlas). Standards should not be lowered more for specific groups.
As far as the supreme court appointements, GMAFB. Of the last 4 nominees Justice Jacson is at least as qualified as the 3 Trump nominees. And I will be really surprised if any Biden nominee won't be at least as (un)qualified as ACB.
