I never said anything about WN. DL AA and UA will be hiring long after NK parks it’s final jet. The retirements in the next 5 years are quadruple the amount of pilots Spirit even has.

And don’t be a moron. They didn’t stop hiring because of the economy, or because they are losing their a$& like Spirit is, they stopped because Airbus and Boeing suck and are behind. Once they get caught up the Legacies will go right on back to hiring 200 a month each.

Much ado about nothing - ALPA negotiations are ongoing and few, if any furloughs will occur. The Company expects much of the overage in staffing in the pilot group to be attained through retirements, attrition and voluntary leave programs. Much ado about nothing.

No furloughs in the Flight Attendant workgroup; all staffing levels are attained through voluntary leaves.

Where can you direct me to Spirit filing bankruptcy via Chapter 11 of the US Federal Code? It was never a reality - yet - every airline and every company could declare bankruptcy at any time for any reason. This isn't Sears, and, this isn't the 70's anymore. You need to rethink what "bankruptcy" means. Every airline has declared bankruptcy, continues to operate and reduce its cost structure. Your statements underscore your limited knowledge base.

It is 2024, not 1985. The days of Braniff, Pan Am, et al are gone as is the old Bankruptcy code. Get with the times, beat it stupid.
You sound like all the Compass Captains I flew with that thought we were going to take all of Envoys Jets, right up until we got shut down.

HA officially only hiring from a pool the rest of the year. Cancelled all previous new hire vacancies. Overstaffed on the 330 PAX due to reduction in augmented flying. For those interested.

Where did you get these numbers specifically for the end of 2025 with 90 NEOs parked and the 300 day turn around from Pratt now being 400?

First of all, I'm sorry to hear this for you folks at NK. I hope normal attitrion thru retirements and pilots moving on to other carriers helps. This sucks. For all of us.

Now to Cat pilot. I'm at DAL. No one here is "offering" any sort of "generous time off" programs for pilots. We just had a semi meltdown over last weekend. Lack of crews. If you're aware of the name of the "generous time off program" my air line is offering our pilots I'm all ears. I'm here, and we are not seeing that.

Reduced block hours? happens every shoulder period. We're ramping up for May though. Not sure where you get your info from.

I’m at DAL and they are not offering any time off programs-generous or not. My category has a pre summer ALV of 80:45 for May. Some people like to work that much. I don’t. I feel bad for the what the Spirit group of pilots is going through so soon after Covid. I wish them either safe harbor somewhere else or a quick resolution to their problems there. The last sentence of your post is much more telling about you than the OP.

Ditto to this. Also curious to where reduced flying lines at AA are. We have zero hour lines in the new contract, but we are not reducing flying or offering pilots any “deals” to not work.
