You just knocked over a $15k therapy wall with that comment. 😭. My boy.

I logged all my 121 time by trip - not by day; certainly not by leg. Nothing was mentioned about my logbook. Not saying that it's accepted now - as apparently AA specified - but it certainly hasn't always mattered.

I’m sure you’re a very capable and knowledgeable pilot, but it’s laughable to see you call someone else stupid when you have no idea what you’re talking about.

To anyone lurking, if you decide applying is right for you don’t listen to that terrible advice. Attention to detail is one of the most important pieces of your application. There’s only so much they can glean from your logbook and application, and how much care and effort you put into both is at the top of their list.

You owe me 15k bc your bs provided aid and comfort to a troll who in turn insulted me. My pain and suffering is my truth.

I did mine day by day and nobody has said anything so far

They did however want to know why the remarks column had so many different female names...I pled the 5th on that one

It has always mattered at DL. Why are you so confidently stupid?

So now it’s only always mattered at Delta? Way to move the goal posts. You have we no clue, you’ve been corrected by multiple posters in the past couple hours. Quit spreading misinformation; you probably work for a company that digitizes paper log books for a fee. Go prey on people elsewhere. Beat it.

IceFlash 04-02-2024 03:18 PM

Since the invention of electronic loogbooks, there is really no excuse for not logging leg by leg. You can enter it during cruise right from the MCDU, what else are you doing thats keeping you so busy?

Imagine being an experienced aviator and complaining about keeping up with a logbook. If you don’t want to keep up with it, fine. But don’t complain about it. No one owes you anything. Kick rocks.

Mine is up to date, leg by leg digital. My entire point is that it hasn’t been a requirement by the legacies as some have posited.

All that just because companies changed their logbook presentation requirement? Childish, man

Here you go again. Supposedly American did; I don’t believe the boy claiming Delta. I think he’s peddling services.

I’ve always logged leg by leg, so I didn’t pay attention to their preferences in regards to logbooks, but I have heard companies changing their preferences from colleagues of mine. So I don’t doubt it. YMMV I guess

does calling people “boy” make you feel tough? I can definitely see why you haven’t been hired by any of the legacies.

God this argument over logging hours is as dumb as the FFDO one going on in the jumpseater thread. Log it however the **** you want, if an airline cares I’m sure they’ll let you know.

Hey all,

Since we're on the topic of tedious "logbooking", do you guys log day landings as well ? Does the Big 3/4/5 care about this one ?
I keep both a paper and electronic logbook but that column is awfully tiny on paper. You get several hundreds if not thousands of landings when flight instructing...

Thanks for the input !

They won't say anything, except, "Sorry but we can't move forward in the hiring process with you today"

Exactly. Also, the airline you are applying to will almost certainly tell you how they want the logbook presented. With modern tech, I would say anyone flying for the last five years almost certainly can retrieve a leg-by-leg log if they need it.

I log leg by leg, but no tail number. Am I done for?

You use blue pen, jail. Over 1.0 mm under 0.7mm pen tip also jail. You don’t schedule and pay $1k with Cage Marshall before interview believe it or not, jail, right away.

Make a PA over frequency, jail.

Say “checking in” or “with you” to ATC, jail.

Taxiing with a passenger up, believe or not, jail, right away.

And is it okay to check on frequency starting with a conjunction...?
