I hope Mr. 11 years is DFW based! |

Remember when everyone was voting no for this last TA? |
I'm a captain and already did 2 interviews. On my last commute (on NK) the captain said he has a class date at AA. Another captain I know from my previous base also has an AA class date and a UA offer. Most are reaching for the ejection handle.

And sadly none are DFW based Catpilot. |

Remember when everyone was voting no for this last TA? https://d2r1lrrqctgamh.cloudfront.net/UAL/TA/upa23-2023-09-29.pdf#page35 DC is 17% with immediate vesting going up to 18% in 2026. https://d2r1lrrqctgamh.cloudfront.net/UAL/TA/upa23-2023-09-29.pdf#page336 Yep, you are going to be on reserve for a long time - mitigated by a standard 18 hour long call and significant add pay if converted to short call. So economically the hit is recoverable pretty quickly. But yeah, you'll be a junior CA for awhile. That may or may not be worth it to any given individual. Everyone is different... |

Last 3 captains I flew with; one had class dates from UAL and AA (9 years NK), another had CJO’s from all 3 and a class date from AA (6 year capt) and the last one was an 18 year LCA who has an app in at UAL. I still think the resignations will be significantly FO heavy.
And sadly none are DFW based Catpilot. out of the 5 captains I have talked to, 9 said they had interviews. |

Oh, I forgot to mention. I interviewed at UA this week and in my group there was another Spirit captain. An early 2020 hire.

App is in with UAL-AA-DL-SWA (order of preference). I will give it a few months before I will look at DEC at the regionals. |

Sounds like RPA. Do what you think is best, but going to a regional is… yeah. Especially the survivability of the company depends on mainline partners whipping carriers. Good luck with whatever you decide, man

I actually meant it as yes leave because you are more senior than me (even though I’m trying to leave too) not leave because I don’t like you. after I re-read that, I can definitely see how you interpreted it that way. That was my mistake. and yes, you were nice to me. All is well 😃 |

Makes complete sense to me .....especially for certain people (only a few years left to retire.....etc.). I assume if you went this route, it would only be if our doors shut? What is the commitment necessary to recieve the bonus anyway? Would kind of suck being on reserve forever as well!!!

Would leave for the big 4 now, regional only if doors start closing... As long as I don't have to commute I can do reserve, just not both. AFAIK bonus for 6months to a year on property. And still eligeble for flow after 2 years (supposedly, no guarantees ASO)

American does this too. Usually one month in the summer and one month (Dec) in winter. They just don't announce it. Delta has slowed; from crazy hiring to good hiring numbers. Southwest? Single fleet issues and heard they have 500+ in the pool so yeah, they're treading water to figure out what to do I guess. |

Stop american just announced a huge airplane order - they have huge retirement numbers - they need pilots. United needs pilots, but of course they’ll pause due to lack of over 100 airplanes - thanks Boeing. Southwest will need pilots - but of course they’ll pause due to a lack of airplanes - thanks Boeing. Delta has said they were going to decrease to about 1000 hired this year, thay haven’t indicated anything different recently? those are still huge numbers. Why does everyone want to go into some sort of sky is falling mode. This is due to lack of airplanes once the airplane shortage is figured out, the pilot hiring will begin again. |

https://simpleflying.com/faa-no-spec...r%20reductions. I'm sure SWA would like to hire all those people if they had their promised new aircraft. |

The music has slowed a bit for now, but it has most certainly not stopped. |
