Over the years I’ve flown with tons of ex something pilots (EAL, TWA, AWA, US, EK, etc) none have had their eyes in the rear view mirror as much as you have. If it was a utopia at spirit you should never have left your position there. I bet by day 3 your captains have had enough.

Bashing UA...really? He literally made a post where he said the move was less painful than he imagined - and he gave up a lot! I'm sure he didn't want to leave - why would he? But... you may have heard a little bit about the state of Spirit...

Relax, Chet. Pretty sure 99% of the posts here aren't 100% reflective of face to face communication. You know, the internet... I'm pretty sure I've flown with you before. You're the guy who's great as long as I sit for 4 days and say, "oh cool, yup, uh huh, really, I didn't know that", etc while listening to you ramble on never once asking anything about me.

probably because this is in the spirit forums?

I remember reading all his United bashing way back from him. I guess his time at Express Jet tainted him. Must have cleaned that social media profile up before his interview at United.

And yeah, it is a painful transition at mid forties with 4 kids going from Senior CA at $312/hr to bottom 99% At $120/hr. That has everything to do with Seniority. This is by no means “bashing”, it’s called reality. Anyway, you have my phone number be happy to chat about it 👍

Like your chat with Dan Gryder? 😂

Can we get a Spirit flag to hang from the rear view

Same boat, brotha. I’m glad I made the move, but it does sting a bit. NK was nothing short of amazing for the pilots. Great group of people. I would be happy to help out anyone I can. Come on over…but the grass isn’t always greener. Many things I miss about Nk, but the crew meals make up for it😂😂.

United is the better company, no discussion. But NK was a great company for the pilots with seniority (last contract wiped out QOL for reserve pilots). Trading single digit captain in base for triple digit bottom FO is a big step, especially at my age. What hurts: the pay cut, but mostly the fact that I know I should have tried to get out as soon as the merger talks started. Told everyone to leave, and everyone listened except me.
January line was 21 legs, 18 crew meals, #jeffreydahmer. And starting February, I wont have to commute for the first time in over 2 decades.

I flew the bus for over a decade at NK and I will admit that I learned things that I never knew before about it, while in training at United! The standard of instruction is very high and anyone that comes in with the belief that they can’t be taught anything more than they learned at NK, is kidding themselves! The guys I fly with on this fleet are by and large, a great bunch! Happy to be here!!
