the company was in a position where no pilots wanted to come here due to an abysmal first year pay. unable to attract anyone, even those requiring sponsors. they needed to increase first year pay and the only way of doing that was signing a new contract. the hits literally came rolling in right after the contract was signed starting with the p&w groundings, and it got painfully obvious that all these new hires wasn't required, combined with no attrition, ending in 3 rounds of furloughs and downgrades. looking back now I'm pretty sure bendo regrets signing it... the company singed a contract they could not afford.

If it was the rates, management would not have signed. They were confident they could make money with those rates. The problem is, management is inept, so instead of making a profit they furlough&fire, and then give themselves millions, because they "saved" money. It is their inability to run a profitable company that is the problem. Did you read up on "plan B', the transition they are thinking will save NK? NK will go from getting 1% of the $200-$400 per segment market to getting 20%, by changing..... nothing much. No lounge, no getting the gate agents and ground crews back on the property, no good food, no connections with other carriers. The total lack of any "management" with a vision is what is killing NK. And even the day to day running is a total disaster. I spend 12 years writing emails to fuelburn@nk and nothing got better. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed my job, the people I flew with, but I always saw the gaping holes management made as opposed to fixed. You sound like you blame the pilots for the failure of management. Like you say, Delta can pay more than NK. Maybe question why, and remember NK management gets the same as Delta management....
The furloughs saves the company about 38.7 million, not counting the downgrades. And they issued themselves approx 10% each of that in bonuses. Classy, that's how corporate america works.
With our customer group literally bankrupted by bidens inflation I don't know how the company will ever make money again. The brand is so tainted the only thing that might work is a total rebranding, but no money for that
Management compensation the same at delta? Lol? Delta ceo $27M, Delta cfo $8M.

They signed because they needed to for recruitment reasons ONLY. If not, we would've been in frontiers situation right now with management stalling a new contract.

Both CEOs have basepay of less than a million. Ed made more because he ran a bigger company beter. Giving a bonus for"saving money " by shrinking should not be ok in a growth driven country.

This guy's posts all but guarantee the company is coming for your contract. They always plant a few people aroung to start to soften the will.
dont listen to them. No pilot contract has ever bankrupted an airline in history.

Yeah. No. NK (and F9) outsourced everything to the cheapest bidder. We were always waiting for ground crews and jetway drivers. Air was never connected so we left the APU running 24/7. Customer service was horrible. But it was fine , because in Baldanza's own words:"We will never run out of passengers to p!$$ off"". And then the legacies started competing with basic economy and we had zero to offer, so we had to reduce the price and lost money on every passenger. That is what happened. But go ahead, blame Biden.

If youre worried the pilot contract will bankrupt the company I guess you can always donate your pay back to the C suite.
