This news is a nothing-burger and purely business semantics. Buys time for anyone on the fence about leaving.
This isn’t a nothing burger, this is a big deal as long as the Q4 earnings show actual reduced cost to levels they are claiming and not projected reduced cost. Aka I don’t think issues like staffing have been addressed but if they claim it’s a temporary trend that will go away which leads to reduced overhead going forward than yea that’s a problem. But even than it buys more time and is definitely good news anyone saying otherwise is actually a “hater” as they say.

“The agreement in principle will provide Spirit with the financial support needed to finalize its restructuring and complete the remaining changes necessary to optimize the Company's fleet, network and cost structure.”

The beatings will continue until morale improves.

Hater? Absolutely with what this hell hole has put people through. Employees and CUSTOMERS alike.

Per Double D’s recent statement, it sounds like the only remaining bases will be DTW, MCO, FLL/MIA, and EWR/LGA.

The CNBC article I'm assuming..."Much of the airline's focus will be on flying to destinations from its major Florida airports, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, as well as from the New York area and Detroit, CEO Dave Davis told CNBC.
Flights that don't touch those airports "will be an even smaller part of the network," Davis said."

I went through it at Delta where we had the same issues. When we fixed the service issues the revenue fixed itself. More important than that my family and I were Spirit customers because they offered convenient travel to destinations I needed. I experienced first hand the issues and after a particularly disgusting service failure with my daughter and her family simply vowed never to fly Spirit again regardless of how convenient.

If they do close LAS,DFW,IAH,ORD and ATL all at once the displacement bid will be interesting

It will probably just continue to drive the attrition needed to shrink to 70-80 airplanes. Balancing act though they can’t drive attrition beyond that.
