I've been watching closely.

House, yes, probably gone.

Senate is possible but mathematically much harder. There are like six vulnerable seats (three on each sides), and the dems have to win all of those, plus one more to break the tie.

If the dems get both houses and impeach DJT they're going to create unintended consequences....

2028 would be a brave new world, with no DJT.

1) Lots of political drama and no congressional function. Even worse than now, which will turn off swing voters and mobilize the GOP base (especially with an impeached DJT as a martyr).

2) If they succeed, Vance will be running as an *incumbent* in 2028, and will have time to at least pivot away from foreign wars and towards the economy. That's actually not who the knowledgeable dems actually want to run against in 2028, especially if a Kamala or AOC type figure hijacks their nomination. They'd much prefer DJT be in office and go off on a tangent and endorse Baron or somebody else out of left field before the GOP primary.

Interesting times.

No one’s removing Trump from office. It’s practically impossible to get 2/3’s of the senate to do that. I don’t want to get political. I was just making point that it’s in everyone’s best interest including Trump’s to get this Iran situation under control and oil back to reasonable prices.

Well, not *everyone's* best interest.

Democrats will like gain ground in mid terms, but 2028 election year isn't in the bag for them by any means. The entire democratic platform and identity is "Stop Trump" and there's nothing else that they really stand for. There will be no more Trump in 2028, so they need to find an identity, and find it quick.

Plenty of people are happy and plenty are struggling; same same. Again, gas was higher priced in 2022 and 2023, but no one was screaming in the media about $6.49 for 89 in CA...short term economy shock due to world events.

We are dominating the battlespace, as expected, negotiating isnt simple, and we have a future to be even more optimistic about. As long as the Ds keep touting orangeman bad, dragging out shutdowns, and siding with Iran, well, mids will be just fine.

Even I don’t agree with that. People have really short memories. I saw a Trump sticker on the gas pump pointing at price that said, “I did that.” Reminded me of the Biden sticker that said same thing.

High gas prices raise the cost of everything. That will cost the current party the elections. Hopefully that’s enough motivation for Trump to get this under control.

The real question is can he actually get it under control?

Agree 100%. Gas prices are literally posted on billboards to give you reminders at every red light. All bets are off when it costs $100+ to fill up the family cruiser.

We're dominating the battle space like no one has ever seen and Trump's imaginary negotiations are way ahead of schedule. This is why the strait remains closed. It's called asymmetric warfare and Iran holds all of the cards. You are clearly a very sophisticated political thinker. I'm impressed.

The case for impeachment in ‘28 will be if the republicans are done. He’s a lame duck, maybe they’re ready to be done. Handful of senators or cabinet members and it’s a deal

We are objectively dominating, in fact it's already dominated, they're just cleaning up stragglers and dismantling their military industrial base so it doesn't come back for a couple decades.

But that doesn't solve the short-term SoH problem, while there *are* ways to address that, it wasn't apparent what the plan is from the State of the War address.
