If hired in 2016 you would realistically be waiting on another aircraft order to upgrade. 8 captains per airplane seems to be the generally accepted number for our current staffing model. based on 144 airframes in 2021 that's 1152ish captains. The last vacancy has over 1100 pilots. Another thing to consider is the company will be going after our inefficiencies in the next contract so that 8 captain per plane could be high which would add to the upgrade time as well. |

I would still contest using a loud crowded crew room as a "classroom". This MEC should have a little chat with the POI, followed by an ASAP, followed by a press release. Needing to rent a room for individuals to stare at an ipad for 2 days would surely put a dent in all the savings. |
