Look at other places... go overseas. Do whatever you can...Do not wait around for NK. It is going to be a while. This company is run day to day. There is little or no planning.

I totally understand you, I have been looking for a job myself for the last six months, I mean everywhere my experience and ratings could take me... but no luck yet, so sadly at this moment the only hope we have is NK. Like in any other airline, bad rumors fly faster than good facts, so lets keep in contact here, and feed ourselves with good facts only...

Keep in mind that we are in mediated negotiations. BOTH sides are gonna play on folks' emotions (ALPO has the PREPARE campaign to get a 100% strike vote; NK has the Contract9000 campaign). The bottom line is that if Spirit is making money and they see market openings, they will NOT hesitate to get more birds, start capitalizing, and seize these opportunities (regardless of how our talks are going with the company).

These guys are investors and they are in this rodeo to make money. If they can't make money, and if the economy continues its downward trend, then they will do what you and your family would do....conserve cash, stop spending, cutback expenses, and ride this tornado out in our mobile home (does FLL Terminal 4 qualify?).

One needs to look no farther than Virgin America to see what inverstors may be fearing this summer and onward...it's NOT a pretty picture.

SPA guys and gals, This airline is like every other airline, it runs on rumors. They are usually totally wrong. We will just have to wait until Phoenix decides to move on airplanes and grow. As previously posted, this place can't get out of it's own way of a 30 plane fleet. It is frustrating but there is no other place to run to at this point. Hopefully the 12 returning is just a precurser to a whole lot more coming back by late 2009 or early 2010.

Everyone needs to take a step back and chill. There is nothing going on at NK right now, good or bad. Its just status quo. The only FACT I can report is that we are actively looking for some airplanes. When the USA3000 aircraft became available, we made a call. They are only available for 5 months though, and then go back to USA3000, so no deal. There are not any new airframes on our certificate, or in a hanger in MIA, or in a paint shop somewhere. When we do get a new aircraft or two, you will see a vacancy bid and some info from PO....in what order I am not sure. Until you see either of these things, consider all rumors to be false.
As far as Sailors claim of furloughs and losing airplanes, I made some calls myself and nothing could be farther from the truth. We do not have enough airplanes to fly our summer schedule as of now. Folks at Mirimar are working hard to try and move the schedule around to accomodate all the flying with the airplanes we do have. Word is we may have to drop a few of our lower yielding flights for the summer to fit in the new stuff...i.e Armenia, LAS, LAX.
Thats all I know to be true...good luck all you furloughed guys!!! We all want you back here ASAP.

Scott, we all are happy to hear that my claims are false, "THEY ARE NOT CLAIMS", they are JUST rumors, like everything else here.

How do we know that yours aren't so?, Exactly , no idea. I did make the comment that MY SOURCES were Telling me, I never CLAIM anything.

So you are right, we ALL need to chill out, and stop spreading FALSE information. ALL OF US!!

As of my sources, I talk to them last night and this morning, and they don't know really whats going on. So we left it at that.

As I said before, I hope my sources are all wrong.

There has been a rumor floating recently regarding Tiger Airways sending us back some A319s. I am hoping like anyone else it's true but this time I went right to the source. Looks like our A319s never went to them. I emailed directly a couple of pilots from Tiger Airways to verify this. Here are a couple of their answers (I am still expecting more replies):

reply# 1) At the moment we have only two A319s with Tiger Airways, both based in Singapore and both recently arrived fresh from the factory. We had nine A320s, one of which has left for Tiger Australia, and one is being returned to the leasing company leaving us with seven A320s and two A319s for the Singapore operation. I haven't heard of any other aircraft being returned.

reply # 2) There are only two 319s in our fleet and as far as I know, Tiger Airways have no intention to add anymore 319s. The rest being 320s and two of them will be returning to the leasing company in the next few months. You can rest assured that our 319s are brand new-straight out from Hamburg and I personally ferried the second one, therefore, I have no clue as in how the idea of four 319s were seconded to us.

I am digging to know where this (these) A320(s) are going.

Someone needs to do you all a favor and lock this thread down. Until you have a Fed Ex letter from Miramar in your hands, anything said on here is worthless. Go back and look at all the rumors started on here... None are true...

Here are a the facts that may actually help you:

Bahrain Air is hiring A320 FO's
Gulf Air is hiring A320 FO's
Qatar is hiring 777, A330, A340 FO’s
Air Arabia is hiring A320 FO's
Etihad will be hiring more FO's later this year to accommodate deliveries in 2010 and beyond.
Spirit: recalling 12 FO's, no plans of rapid growth, serving a very small market in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Those are the facts... Now go get em tiger.
