Honest question - why does anyone want to come here? You're going to make less than $2,000 your firs two months, less than 30 your first year. Long reserve if you're hired now and likely no upgrade for years. Negotiations are going nowhere and management is violating the contract every chance they get. Consider yourself warned

You can't have much of a career at a regional. Come here and if you never hear from a major, you can at least make some decent coin over the length of a career compared to a regional. We are not going to ratify a pos contract, so it will get better eventually. Also, you don't have the stress of being hired lift. Any regional is at risk of being the next Comair. I would much rather be a sr First Officer at Spirit than a sr Captain at any regional. If you're younger and not looking at a flow to AA anytime soon. I'd say it's well worth it. You can always leave for a major.
If you're in the left seat of any regional you'll lose tens of thousands by coming here and being hired late this year and beyond. The growth isn't there to support it being a smart decision.

We have zero aircraft on order after 2021, we already are well past half way towards our total 144 aircraft count by 2021. Anyone hired here since the beginning of this year will never upgrade as of our current projected growth. We have very few retirements to offset this. So if you go to a job fair and they claim a 3 year upgrade, it's a lie, there is no upgrade for anyone hired 2016 and beyond until half of the seniority list retires, thats in 2035 I think. Of course it is always possible that we make another aircraft order, but for now Fornaro says he is happy with the current fleet plan. The last new hire will upgrade in 2021 was hired in 2015, most likely a September hire, thats it for the next 5 years. Unless the BOD changes its mind and gets another order, but for now based on the last conference call, that is not happening any time soon. $38 an hour to start, no long call reserve, good luck to anyone wanting that future.

the "it's better than staying at a regional" is the mediocre attitude that will continue to ensure we are the lowest paid pilots in the industry. It's exactly what this dirtbag management team wants. Employees that think they can always leave if they want to but are content with the status quo because they're happy to be out of GoJets.

Honest question - why do you and people like you insist on constantly spewing this negativity over and over and over and over and over and over again? Maybe a guy/gal needs a job and the legacies aren't calling. Should they sit on the couch with their arms folded and bottom lips out and refuse to eat dinner until Delta calls? Are you saying people shouldn't come here to improve their lot in life because Spirit is not the highest paid airline in the industry and therefore they are the reason you don't have the highest paying seat in aviation? What was Spirit when you were hired....better? Why didn't you go to delta?

It's not negativity. It's reality of working at Spirit airlines. Im not telling anyone who needs a job to not come here. What I said was I don't understand why anyone wants to. Especially if you have a halfway decent gig right now. I would try much harder to go to any other LCC. Even Frontier right now is a better choice for movement. Now that comes with the price that they're contract isn't as comprehensive. People need to know what they're signing up for, not what Jyri says at job fairs.
Frontier is a better choice? Dafuq. We will end up with them sooner or later so there is no reason to lose seniority here to start over there
