If that's the only scraps you get in DOT, that's what you get. Most are low time turns and low time trips. Plus I can't flight international so that limits what lines I can hold and what trips I can pick up or trade into. I couldn't get a conflict this month because of what was going on, so you do what you have to do. I'd love to not do this, but I have to pay bills and other expenses. Losing a $h!t ton of pay in November plus having to take the temporary loss of spousal income, FTW choice do you have? I'm not going to take on extra debt to bail our selfs out. I'm going to have to suck it up buttercup and work more.

I was broke as F as an FO, I do fly a lot. It took a lot for me to get back on my feet after I came here. I suffered a huge and devistating life change after I got hired here. I finally got some stability and then I had some medical issues come up. But I'm not 7 months pregnant, I'm just that fat. I'm only 15w, so I still have a long way to go. But thanks buddy, how about you mind your own business. Until you walk a mile in another mans shoes, you should keep your opinions private. Or, why don't you grow a pair and call me and ask me what's going on?

If you're making $140k+ and even if a spouse loses a job and you are finding yourself living month to month paycheck from your 6-figure job, you need to get a good financial advisor and planner.
I flew with her while I was on first year pay and she cried the entire time about how broke she was. The only thing worse than making $38 an hour is listening to the Captain complain that her $130 an hour was barely keeping her horse fed and stabled.
Her spending on overnights is legendary.
Honestly, her skills as a pilot are in question with normal rest, this schedule puts us all at risk of an accident.
I'll light a candle for the FOs that have to babysit her with 6 days off for the month, while she commutes to day trips in Chicago, all the while having to smell her farts and vape exhale in the flight deck. Oh yes, vaping and farts is an added bonus to the experience.
Maybe we can do a "Time to Give" for her. Forget the pilot who is battling a brain tumor, we have to feed her horses and make the payments on her new cars!!!
How about this... 1)membership asks leadership to recommend legal work actions. 2) leadership tells lawyers what they want and asks for ways to make said actions justified 3) leadership tells membership to fall in line and makes the time to personally persuade each of the approx 200 OT queens to fall in line. 4) as a group we support each other even when the legal job actions cause us personal inconvenience like gate returns, or open write ups or cancellations. 5) the leadership schedules more public displays of our frustration.
But wait... we are going to self censor by quickly saying "the lawyers won't approve" or "we can't do that". And there you have it. We don't have the balls to do it. Always looking for lawyers to give permission. I've hired lawyers for the last 20 years and not one of them wants to stick their neck out. You've got to tell them what you want and to find a legal way to make it happen. Lawyers always say "don't".
Or we can continue to wait until the other side is ready.
