At this point, I hope we get bought by someone. I'll take my chances with a merger.

Wouldn't you rather have a more lucrative contract in place prior to that? Let's face it, the only potential acquisition/merger I see is with F9 and their contract is much worse than ours.

I hear people mention AA or Delta but have to laugh. Do people really believe that?, lol.

I agree. The airline manufacturers and the airlines need to acknowledge this, and do something about it. The B-787 does not use bleed air for pressurization and air conditioning. I imagine that is the way these manufacturers are going from now on, but they need to develop a fix for the others.

As much as things about this company aggravate me, they are actually developing a program and will be the first airline here (in conjunction with FedEx I believe) to get C02 detectors in the airplane. Also the CPOs office has been very good about these cases and encourages everyone to go to hospital and get checked out after the event.

The A&Ps in TPA are clueless and seem to never find anything wrong with the "PACK". They don't get what's happening and refuse to actually figure out where the oil is coming from

A new report appeared in the last couple of days in the reports app specifically for fume events. It makes some reference to maintenance for a specified inspection. Not sure what that inspection is.

I agree, I'm am impressed how seriously Spirit is taking this issue. It's not getting brushed under the rug, as JS initially tried to do anyway. Thankfully at least a few reasonable people work in Mirimar.

I think we can all thank RE for that. He's the one guy in Miramar that truly looks out for us.

Like anything else with Spirit, it comes down to money. It is not like they are looking out for our personal safety or safety of passengers, they are concerned with the liability of it because they realize it is a real threat. Imagine a significant event taking place and the lawyers step in representing Spirit employees or passengers at all A320 operators. This could turn into a huge class action lawsuit. Sure, it would be against the manufacturer, but individual airlines could be named in the suit. Spirit taking action on this now limits their liability.
So again, NKS does the cheapest thing all while paying us 40% less than other airlines.

Actually, it would be very good pressure for us to exert on mgmt. We could demand the seniority lists not be integrated until we get a new contract. Then we could ask for much more because management would have a greater incentive to get things done.
