Have fun Spirit, call me back when you decide to be a real airline where I can actually call someone.

To ignore your sarcasm...nope, you shouldn't believe that. Haha. Sitting in the hotel lobby right now filling out the NCC. It seems if you are on reserve and your pairing starts with a DH, it's a good bet you don't have a hotel room booked.

What's the typical resolution to these sort of things? I assume it's good data for the union either way to know about these situations, but is there ever any compensation for ditching you at the airport with no van or hotel room?

Time to get your helper hats on Special Deal Dream Team! If you're the kind of D-Bag who is willing to go OUTSIDE THE CONTRACT now, I am only left to assume you will also go OUTSIDE THE CONTRACT during a strike. You might want to keep your special deals to yourself in the cockpit. Some of us talked the talk AND walked the walk last time. You are not appreciated. High Fives!

That is every day, not just when there is an IROP. And to answer your question, no, there is rarely compensation in my experience... they blame hotel connections, you get nothing.

I too thought an airline that sells its own tickets must be better than my regional but what this company has put me through in newhire class is inexcusable. I wasn't going to sign up on here and post in fear of retaliation but I just don't care anymore. I'm feeling like taking this job is one of the biggest mistakes of my career.

Training here has become an absolute cluster-----.

First of all, most pilots here like myself have families and understanding our benefits is a very important detail. For HR to cancel FOUR TIMES is just absolute BS. Being told Schedulers would come in and explain what goes on in their dept etc and how it could effect us etc never show up is also BS. As Newhire I have no idea how to enroll in benefits, how to bid, or generally do anything else that is usually taught day 1 in basic Indoc.

Yes I had a midnight Sim and no I did not know I was able to say no. Not the end of the world because the instructors have been very helpful and all around great. Same with the pilots I have met. The complete and total lack of communication is just down right unbelievable.

The F/As were all sent home due to the hurricane and we were told training was suspended. Great, we all thought we could go home and see our families.......nope. we are stuck here until training figures out what to do with us. They knew the fng storm was coming and yet they decided to just not answer the numerous emails and phone calls looking for a little direction.

Anyway. I cant update my apps quick enough and I'm not even typed in the Airbus yet. Take my advice and wait for Allegiant, JBlue, or a legacy to call.

Its just not worth it and has put a tremendous amount of unnecessary stress on all of us.

cheers
How embarrassing. As a new guy myself I feel for you guys/gals. I hope you all stay safe down there and this memory remains vivid whenever the company needs a favor down the road.

Whatever it takes.

Where do I begin?

Guys making special deals with scheduling. Just had a an F/O buddy text me that he is delayed (he's deadheading) because they had no F/O and a LCA was calling scheduling to see if he could work the flight.

Had a CA I was talking with who they called at 3:30am (his call out was 3:00am) so they could "release him" into rest and take a later repo for JRM pay. Not only is that a contract violation it's ******* FAA Violation

Disgraceful, shameful stuff like that

Be safe and just leave. The likelihood of them having any clue where crew members are, is slim
