I tried bringing this up weeks ago and never got a reply. Yep same user name from eagle lounge of RI. That'd be a hell of a coincidence.... I think hijacked.

Spirit really has no stand-alone future. I don't think we can keep up with the growth. I bet we never make it to 155 airplanes by 2020. Around 120 or so we'll lose more pilots than we can hire. OR someone will buy us. Delta or United who wants 1500 pilots and 155 Airbuses. The last ALPA magazine showed 9,500 pilots retiring by 2020 and 23,000 pilots retiring at Legacy by 2025.
Instead of offering us comparable wages, they'll delay aircraft orders..just like Virgin did a few years ago. and stagnation will come. 2nd year at United is $126-160 depending on aircraft (and higher with DAL pay parity). Wide body is obtainable in 2nd year, and movement happens at 500-800/year. The ONLY thing that can keep Spirit on track to hire and grow as planned is a new contract, but they don't see that.

It's gotta be a poorly conceived poker faced game of chicken right? No way they win. They can not beat the labor market as arrogant as they are

Paul Berry better get a new massage from his keepers because what they want is status quo and they aren't going to keep that. They will pay and pay big but of course he can't say that.

Just get to it already and watch how we prop up this airline and make profits and performance soar. For now I ain't doing shiit to help out.

Default Hiding money

Not sure if this was brought up yet, it's laughable they have so much cash and look at every way to put it somewhere other than our pockets.

Remember, they are Greedy, not stupid. When it comes down to it, if attracting pilots does become an issue, they will pay. They will absolutely not delay A/C due to lack of pilots.

They just turned down a friend of mine who has been a CA at XJT for over 10 years. Hes in his upper 40s and lives in NJ, you know.........the base they cant staff.

It was him, two other CAs and the rest lower time RJ F/Os...........

Like I said, they wont stunt growth because they are too dumb/stubborn to pay Industry Standard. They would rather wait and have the entire 1400 pilot group resent them and cost them money in the long run than just negotiate an already very outdated CBA

Not that most of us wouldn't like to be gobbled up (and being stapled would still be a payraise), but you can't rule out that we may be the purchaser, a "republic" type operation comes to mind??? Bobs got a fascination with medium sized markets and smaller jets.. Lots of unknown variables.

Current performance is better than ever. The argument that pilots are angry thus operational performance is suffering is clearly untrue right now

Ice Cream Bob is also padding the stats a bit, but we're certainly being too helpful at achieving his goal.

The only thing that will force the company to settle quickly are mass cancellations due to "crew staffing." That's what will gain the BOD's attention. Other than that, what's the hurry on management's part? Planes are flying and the company is making record profits... status quo is good for them. It's that simple.
