Well, it looks like we've officially gotten under United's skin.

I think UAL would be better served improving their product than competing against the Dollar General's of the airlines. They're second fiddle to Delta right now. I was updating my app regularly with United until NAI was approved. I have already had one extended furlough. I don't think I want another one.

I would doubt anyone hired by a legacy right now will be furloughed. Famous last words but with the amout of retirements I don't see it happening.

Yep, and NetJet owners would never, ever sell their airplanes. Until they sold back $1.1 billion worth and put over 1,000 people out of work of course.

The legacies furloughed 2,000+. There are about 1,000 retirements a year coming up. Don't see a furlough happening. A good time to get hired.

It happened at my last Airline. Those mediators are paid by the hour.

Until age 67 happens. Or age 70. Or UAL loses market share to NAI/ME3/etc and airplanes are parked and international guys displace domestic guys who displace Home Depot greeters. Or when fuel goes back up. Or when the economy takes another dump. Or when war breaks out again. Or when UAL defers another order. Or a combination of multiples of the above. United is the weakest international carrier in my opinion. They're just barely squeezing a profit out of INTL in the best market conditions in a long, long time. You may be right and UAL guys may be furlough proof but they don't give me a warm fuzzy. YMMV.

Republic? If so, that was a completely different set of circumstances dealing with a completely different sector of the airlines. Apples and oranges comparison.
