We're currently trying to fit 10lbs of ******* in a 5lb bag. All those trips that start with PAX at 6am and flip to Amazon at night go away. Most Amazon trips would go away from Minnie.
Open bases in the Amazon hubs.... bring on pilots to fly them, hell, bring on the 73s Appollo is trying to dump on us. Amazon has been wanting this. Want us to staff the hubs with reserves. Hey Spirit pilots. Wanna come fly stable Amazon outta FL? You don't have to move or commute.....
And then we actually bring on our seven planes laying in wait. The entire industry is craving planes. We've got too many and are leasing planes back.
I've rarely disagreed with Trip. He's a fellow OO type. He's wrong here. It does make a difference. Pillar this company's flying.
Domt forget. We are losing money on Amazon with the current operating setup.

Still didn’t explain how schedules would improve with new bases.
But What’s to say a LAL pilot has a 5 day trip. Operates 1 leg to Msp and then does 3 days of MSP-MCO-MSP with overnights in MSP and day 5 operates the return MSP-LAL.
Not even gonna mention the difficulty of commuting to a place like LAL or AFW because it would take hours to write out. Just imagine how much you’d be spending on Lyft/Uber out of your own pocket.
This sounds like what frontier got with their Denver base. It now takes 10 years to hold CA DEN and 18+ years to hold a line as captain.
Personally wouldn’t be proud to say I worked at the non union regional airline and am willing to bend over backward for company profits but you do what you gotta do.

You were right. I was wrong.
I continue to have hope but realize that, perhaps, nowhere are executives compensated more to run a smaller airline. Not a criticism, just recognizing the effect of a billion dollar venture capital ownership group and the stock options they can hand out. Buying planes and leasing them back to others (rather then having your pilots fly them) is just so emblematic of it all.
Well, hopefully we see newhire classes return this month. A picture of twentysome smiling faces in the chiefs newsletter is always good.
