Flight school update: As a Navy Sim instructor I can tell you that we are still teaching the old "Pencil Method" of Point-to-Point as described above at Whiting Field and Corpus in the T-6/T-34. They now learn it in the BI stage (if any of you Gold Wing guys remember that from Primary)

Basically an airplane is on a certain radial at a certain distance and needs to figure out what direct heading will take the airplane to a different radial of the same VOR at a different distance. Appreciate any useful replies. Is there a way to do this on paper without looking at a HSI?
