I wonder if this is why they are hiring CQFO's again. There really is a lot of turnover among CQFO's, and with plenty of other more reputable places hiring, I don't know of anyone who isn't trying to leave. I also imagine scheduling likes the ability to use a pilot in both seats.

Hey Mav, does that make me an idiot that should go draw pictures in a coloring book?

My leg.

If you are leaving TSA as a Captain for other regional airlines for any reason other than commute, then yes. You are an idiot.

I wouldn't call a CQFO stupid for leaving for a street captain job with a guaranteed interview/flow because they have no guarantee of the upgrade until its awarded, particularly if there is a bonus involved. And they have a way to get to mainline in their back pocket if needed.

This is why the company needs to plan for retention bonuses and some kind of interview/flow guarantee. Without these guys who are on the margin (recent upgrades, new hires) with regard to seniority are going to look at moving as bonuses increase and the majors look to flows (AA in particular) to staff from the nonmilitary ranks.

I don't think a DEC hire at PSA is necessarily a good move for a CQ. We are only half way through our growth and the CQ on property are already needed to fill future Captain vacancies. And PSA is the only place where I would say a lateral move would be close to worth it.

Yes but PSA is just the beginning. In the not to distant future you are going to see more and more CQFO/Street Captains as guys move on in droves and these companies struggle to fill the vacancies.
