And the modern labor laws were created because of the public's distaste for current labor strife. There is a large majority of Americans who believe unions are outdated and would prefer that organization be illegal. During the financial crisis of 2008, it was discovered how much unions had virtually destroyed parts of the auto and steel industry making them virtually incapable of competing with foreign companies. Don't think for one second that if the RLA goes away, with it will go the strength of unions and ability of workers to unionize.

The US cars just weren't fuel efficient but they were cheaply made and partly due to the fact that the auto manufactures union and steel workers union could essentially dictate the terms of their contract and did so without any regard to their parent company's finances.

Yep, we've flown together.. You've already been called out on APC before, no need for it to happen again.

While I understand your skepticism, I know for a fact there were several airplanes that had only been here a matter of a weeks before they had serious maintenance issues and had to be replaced by a TSA owned spare. Several of them. And the XRs had more ice protection issues than any other after only being here a month or so. Like I said, TSA couldn't have screwed it up that fast.
Over zealous crew member = 6 MELs and the typical 1.5hr delay.

A lot of the MX issues seem to be from crews who are eager to write a novel in the can. Instead of calling MX, people are being trained to write whatever the hell they want first and then call it in. So a simple power down or CB issue turns into a 2 hour delay in JFK while they wait for MX to come over from LGA. I haven't looked at the performance numbers in a while, but last time I checked, I remember us being pretty close to last place.

I don't know what to tell you. XJT has had the best controllable completion factor for UAL for the last 13 months. That doesn't happen with the types of things you are describing. Like I said, the XRs were the aircraft that were in the best shape of all of them. And it makes sense since those were the "newer" aircraft out of all of them. They rarely had any MELs either. And if they did, it was usually some Non-Essential Furnishing in the cabin. Also, the envoy aircraft were in good shape (and very clean inside as well) but admittedly, that was after going through our maintenance checks. The Eagle operation has a consistent controllable completion factor of around 99.6%.
