We don't need PBS but they do.
They took it away because the Union was so committed that they would get agreement that they essentially told the company they were willing to bet on reserve days off. Well, the Union and pilot group became uncommitted so, the language that was written into the contract that you voted yes to in 2011 became effective. Do you blame the bookie for collecting on his bets? This is not the company's fault, it is yours. You said if you don't agree that they can take 10 days off back.

Yea I don't think it's the company's fault, they're only obligated to give you what you negotiate. What are we going to do now? The company will say having 10 days off doesn't hurt but it definitely does in the long run and they know it. Not to mention that doesn't address how to keep pilots that are already here. They're suddenly trying to negotiate again, always remember that they need this. Don't get caught up in reserve coverage statistics, now is our chance to bring real gain. Not just 11 days off.

Apparently we will be working under the agreement (including all incentives but pay raises) for a trial period and then we will vote on it.

I agree that we should get something good for it but it's a waste of effort to get "retention bonuses." In the current hiring environment, those who want to stay are going to stay and those that want to leave are going to leave. No amount of money TSA throws at them is going to make them think otherwise.

You had plenty of say. You filled out the survey and emailed your reps. They negotiated a deal that is going to let you "test" out almost every aspect of the LOA and THEN be allowed to vote on it. So, you're getting contract improvements like a generous min day and still can vote it down if you want.

Yup, im not nessecarily a big ALPA guy, but from what I have seen, Im going to have to agree with this. We have reps that look at surveys and go with a majority rule. So if you dont personally like it, than your the minority (usually).

Test driving an loa to some extent is good. I cant rip on our reps (yet), because they are doing negotiations. If I dont like the loa ta, than I can vote it down. But I cannot complain because there is nothing to complain about (yet). Lets see what happens!
