Free advice from a guy who has been bumped at least 10 times in the last 18 years, including 2 furloughs...I think I have had 12 long courses with UAL now...anyhow, take a deep breath and wait and see what happens--you might regret leaving.

I still am fuming over the 727 bump in 2001!

This too shall pass. It will be ok...

I'm in no way suggesting he/she should make an airline switch and presume it was more than likely an emotional post. I can't speak for AA, but at SWA, I just wanted to point out that the most junior hire in HOU and DAL started training a little over 2 months ago, which is a far cry from the 3 years you suggest. HOU in particular has actually become one of our most junior bases as it stands now.

Thank you for correcting me. I remember perhaps a long time ago dal and hou were very senior.

I "moved to a base" after 6 years of commuting, have had 14 years in one house, kids at great schools with lifetime friendships....and I drive 35 minutes to the employee lot to go to work. About the same drive to all training events as well. Best decision I ever made. Commuting sucks. And now they're bringing back the Seven Five baby!! Whew!!

No worries. Outside of ATL, the junior domiciles over here have been fairly dynamic the last couple years. When I was hired, MCO was "years" away. Now people are getting it straight out of training. Cheers.

You're so right. IAH sucks. If I were you, I would never bid anything remotely close to IAH. The lines suck, the people suck, the planes suck, the weather sucks,...everything just sucks.

I've lived in IAH for 25+ years...I suck too. Stay away from IAH!

Amen! If you were hired before '95 IAH is horrible!

To those who complain about property tax, good don't come down here and pollute TX. I moved down here from McHenry County IL and the property tax bill was within $1k of what I payed there. But I have a nicer house, pay MUCH less for everything from milk to gas and 0 state tax.
Those state tax people will really be screaming when the republicans take that deduction away from federal taxes as per the Trump plan! We won't be subsidizing your broke ass states anymore lol.

I bid off the 3 holer in early 2001 to fifi; I departed the fix for several years from fifi.

Oil took a major dump today; US inventories showed a 3.3M Bbl build when the markets were expecting a 3.5M Bbl draw ... a delta of 6.8M Bbl. A buildup in inventories at the start of peak demand season surprised me, especially with all of the OPEC/nonOPEC production cuts.

It must be all those United FOs buying shiny new Tesla Ss and Xs.
