Not really .. they're just defending the hubs, and there's only 7 hubs. If Frontier adds service from Providence to Islip, I highly doubt there'd be a competitive response.

. What definitely doesn't work is just pulling out of the market and ceding to competitors. OAK is a perfect example. I understand your sentiment; you want to root for your own team. That's normal human behavior.

Ehhhh... one not need look to far back when United went from making a billion dollars to TU almost overnight. CAL was circling the drain for the third time after a good run. In fact the only pax airline older than JetBlue that hasn't been through bk is WN (of those still standing). Get while the gettins good, just be prepared.... past precedent dictates there will be tough times again.

Agree that its more like $10B to buy JB, which means nobody is in a position to do this. VX was purchased for almost DOUBLE their market value, roughly an 89% premium.
