I'm in IAH now. The airport Marriott has huge fans blasting throughout the building trying to dry out carpets and the elevators are unusable to access rooms. The hotel is swarming with Military staying here to help with recovery.

I imagine much of the city is in a similar state of disrepair and will be for some time.

That worked out well.

I had a short layover a few months ago...carpet smelled like it had been damp since 1995. Here's hoping the city rebounds quicker than the carpet.

The hotels at IAH TK suck, so does the doubletree at DEN TK, they are both old, smelly, outdated and overrun with old white dudes in polo shirts, shorts, white new balance kicks with sox pulled up to their knees crowding the breakfast buffet.

Yeah, but those CAs there did buy my beers, so I won't judge how they present themselves.

LOL!!! .... Huh? Sorry, not in on the joke. Don't know if the TK budget overrun rumor is true either. I heard that one the last time I was there, so it has as much currency as all TK rumors.
