but we probably will once the 321’s show up.

it’s not that the 319/320 isn’t capable of doing so, just that they aren’t configured to do so. Much like the legacy UAL 757’s. No need to send them to Europe when we had the 767’s to do so.

Thanks for the responses, everyone. Hopefully the 737 has unlimited spots to fill in EWR for my class and I won’t even have to make a decision!

Bid NB anywhere before 756 to get EWR. You’ll be stuck for 2 years. Get a NB and you will be able to lateral move to EWR for either the 73 or bus during the next vacancy and you will have much better control of your schedule quicker. When you are senior enough to hold a line, think 75 maybe 80 percent, then bid the 756 if that tickles your fancy and enjoy the one-leg and done transcons, touring all the main bases in the lower 48 with occasional Europe. But 73 out of EWR is a great way to learn the system and everything you’ll do after will be easier. AND…the 737 out of Newark isn’t hard.

52 Unfilled, so might actually see that as an offer in upcoming new hire classes

10 spots were offered in this week’s class for 737 ORD. A320 was unlimited in ORD.
Basically every base, except for GUM, and every aircraft that United has was offered to newhires. Plenty of choices.

Last edited by Sunrig; 01-13-2022 at 05:32 AM. Reason: Lack of GUM base added

Changes week to week.

basewise: ewr, lax, sfo, dca wide open. Other bases moderate to zero

equipment: mostly nb (mix varies), significant 756. Recently a very small 77/78 offering

Anyone know the time difference as a new-hire to hold a line between EWR 320 vs 737? How about IAD?

Like, would it take 5 months for 320 vs 3 months as 737? I know it changes a lot, especially recently, but any ballparks?
