have at least one or two classes a month beyond that timeframe until the Fall ramp up.
Additional classes will likely be announced approaching each bid period as the manpower
need and/or training availability is determined.

There are now 50 remaining extended furloughed pilots on the list with various 10-year
expiration dates thru November 10th 2019.

So, while there are no guarantees, looks like hiring will continue through the summer.

The rest of the report from the SSC dealt with the future plan for Fall 19 thru Spring 20 to prepare for the summer of 2020. At this point it sounds like the will be training as many as the Training Center can handle (and the Training Center is already big and growing), so good news on the training/growth front.

Obviously many variables that can effect the plan, but for now the sun continues to shine at historic intensity.
How many unfilled vacancies remain? Does this mean we are looking at another vacancy bid soon?

Don’t know about unfilled vacancies but the report says that there is a vacancy that opens today. Almost exclusively wide body slots which is always good!

Thanks! Just logged on to CCS after reading your post and saw the announcement. Copy/paste didn't work out great but here it is:
VACANCY Captain First Officer
DCA 787 CA 10 DCA 787 FO 10
SFO 787 CA 20 SFO 787 FO 25
DEN 787 CA 2 DEN 787 FO 4
DCA 777 CA 6 EWR 787 FO 10
EWR 777 CA 3 IAH 777 FO 6
IAH 777 CA 6 DCA 777 FO 6
ORD 777 CA 3 SFO 777 FO 30
SFO 777 CA 12 EWR 756 FO 10
GUM 737 CA 3 SFO 756 FO 10

LAX 756 FO 10
ORD 320 FO 4
IAH 320 FO 4
EWR 320 FO 4

With min/max, this should eventually translate into a ton of unfilled SFO vacancies by the time the bid closes.

The circle of life. LCAL had a captain show up for a 777 trip to be greeted by 3 FOs still on probation. Fully qualified and typed, but he raised the “issue” later and the company started an informal study about why senior pilots weren’t bidding junior lines, including having a 2-year captain on the 737. Everyone but the leadership knew the answer—horrendous work rules that are always scale tougher as juniority increases. Duh. The economy crashed before “they” figured it out. Problem solved.

Now it’s just because of growth I suppose.

I just looked at the Relative Seniority chart, some of the numbers aren’t correct resulting in skewed percentages. It says I can even hold my BES, where I’m 80%. Same with other bases, which I know I can hold.

Humm, not so sure about that. The most jr SFO 777 FO is 11307 (Jr Man Table). I’m guessing that’s at least 2 yrs with company. But with 30 openings...hope that holds out for new hires that want it! Don’t be surprised when the Final comes out and the relative seniority is back to >100%.

I believe it is based on the "minimum" shown on the MIN/MAX info. So, if your current BES doesn't have any bids coming in on this vacancy it prob has a very low min (to avoid forcing back fills they don't want) which will make it look like you can't hold your current assignment.

All in all, it's a great time to get hired at the lazy U. We're behind in staffing and we've finally got a management team that actually wants to grow the airline.
